I'm ashamed of myself... but I finally succumbed to Origin

I tried guys. I really did. Oh man how I tried. I even considered missing out on Mass Effect 3, just to avoid it. But then...the trailers started. The trailers and the demo and the rave reviews thereof, I just couldn't stop myself.

I pre-ordered the deluxe edition via Origin. I feel dirty now. So dirty. But sometimes... we just have to do things we don't like, morally, to get by in life.

...I feel like i've let everyone down. I'm sorry.

After buying The Saboteur and Shift 2 and hearing about all the stories with the developers only AFTER, I find it easy to not give a fuck about EA anymore. Really easy.

I know you're just being silly, but I'll still say that you shouldn't beat yourself up too much over this. Just don't make it a habit!!!

Oh god, how could you!? Think of your family! Think of everything that...Oh wait, I just remembered it doesn't matter.

Its not some evil criminal mastermind with a twirly mustache that has an army of henchman browsing your computer files looking at your porns. Its a game company with silly business decisions. People need to stop all this paranoia that just stems from taking the user agreements to literally and irrationally. You want to play Battlefield and Mass Effect? 2 amazing games of this generation? then just freaking put on your big boy pants and get over it all ready.

There really isn't anything awful about origin. Are it prices the best? No. Are its games the best? No. Is it steam? No. But it isn't the horrible hell spawn that people make it out to be. "But they're selling all my data". Yeah, so is pretty much every other program and website you use. People just like to scream at EA.

I actually commented in another thread about how people refusing to get Origin would crack by the time ME3 comes about.

Don't feel bad though. It's only natural to want to buy something that looks and sounds really good.

How dare you use Origin just because you want to play a game you believe you'll enjoy! You make me sick!

Oh wait, breaking news just in, Origin isn't the spawn of the anti-christ that people have been making it out to be. Weather at 11.

I installed Origin to download the Mass Effect 3 Demo. Upon completion, I deleted the demo and Origin from my computer. The Demo didn't appeal to me, so I don't intend to purchase the full game at this time, meaning there was no reason to keep Origin on my computer.

Gamers are notoriously bad at keeping with boycotts but I cant fault you. If you feel that EA's brand of spyware and consumer unfriendiness is worth playing ME3 then thats fine. I can only say have fun with it

However I will continue to refuse to put origin on my computer. When Bioware wants to do a sensible PC release where I dont have to have origin to play ME3 Ill be ready to buy but until that day comes I'll be standing true to my principles

I installed Origin the very moment they fixed the ToS and then I pre-ordered BF3 from GamersGate for $30 less than the Origin price. Good on you.

Weak. I finished Mass Effect 1 and 2, was just going through again to get a save I was happy with for 3 and then stopped. There are other games out there, you can't possibly have played everything great from last year yet.

Oh god you installed a perfectly safe, non-spyware, non-intrusive program that offers competitive prices with Steam (a program near identical to it)? You're so brave! Where would you like your dick-shaped medal for bravery pinned? On your forehead?

What no! Oh you sorry son of a.... I thought it'd be no big deal to put Origin on my computer. I was wrong. It started so suddenly. I was fast asleep when a noise jolted me awake. My computer was sitting next to my bed watching me sleep. The next day I swore I saw it watching me in the shower. On my way to work I swear it was following me in the car behind me.

But hey man. If Origin is spyware so is Steam. And Facebook. And Google. And Itunes.... And do you want me to go on?

But you broskis are probably smart enough to not use ANY of those programs right?

NO, how could you!? Every true gamer would spend the $350 extra money for a Playstation or an Xbox and get Mass Effect 3 for those in order to avoid Origin.

You deserve a special spot in hell. The ORIGIN spot.

... Have fun playing Mass Effect 3 though. I am sure its going to be awesome and YOU are going to get it on the first day because you were brave enough to survive Origin. You, or your computer.
