Superiority. It can range from a mild self-confidence to full-blown arrogance. It can be motivated by logic and reason, by morals or ethnics, or by no real reason at all.

Do YOU feel superior? About what? Superior to whom? Any idea why? Or is it a stupid feeling of superiority?

I feel superior to people who are learning how to drive in an automatic car as opposed to a manual one simply out of spite because I am forced to learn one of the latter variety and also, to people who aren't on the Escapist because they're probably mildly retarded in some way.

Both of them are pretty stupid really.

Remember to play nice, this thread could get flamey pretty quickly.

GO!

I switch it on and off, depending on if I can be bothered. It's actually really easy to act superior, all you have to do is explain everything and then point out every single mistake in any form of rebuttal.

And it also relies on sleep. It's not as fun if I'd rather be asleep.

well... i am just better than you...and thats all there is to it

</d-bag>

anyway, i find myself on and off in different subjects with different people...always based on logic and reason, hardly ever moral or ethic standings...

I am a superior human being when compared to the general population, yes.

I mean, seriously:
I'm mentally and artistically gifted, I am beautiful- reasonably pretty, but pretty only lasts a decade or two- I can cook, I am a gamer nerd, I am untouched by sexual lust and am phased little by greed, I am a star in my department at college, despite my age... and there's plenty more where that comes from.

As I generally try to avoid hanging out with people inferior to me I wouldn't know. Seriously though I have worked with the mentally handicapped and never felt superior, I mean obviously I had to do things for them but I never really thought about being better than them it is weird.

I have to admit when it comes to writing, my music tastes and how well I cook I have a fairly large ego.

It drops to non existant in pretty much every other aspect of my life.

I know I'm superior. I don't need to brag about it. Except in threads about superiority.

Pfft

Do I even need to answer? Everyone who's anyone knows what I can do. Actually, it's easier to know what I can't do.

When it comes to the drawing and painting I think I'm quite good and when it comes to modesty in that field I feel like its less modesty and more fishing for compliments. I would say that I feel like I'm better than a good deal of the people in my classes but that's because I have 4 years more experience at art school than most of the people in my classes.

I hate going to art museums where there are a lot of people with little artistic knowledge. Not because: "they don't know what they're talking about" or something like that. The reason is that I know quite a bit about analyzing art and as a result I feel like a pretentious dickbag for wanting to inform everyone about my "expert" opinion.

I came close to punching this girl in the face once because she told me she hated all movies, even kids movies. I mean what fucking childhood did this girl have?

My mind was screaming "This uncultured *****!!" and i felt my fist swell up. Thankfully my sanity returned and i walked away twitching.
You should have yelled at her. *disappointed head-shake* Maybe while recommending some good movies but still, screaming should have been present.

I regret not doing more but it was during university at the time. People who don't read books, watch some good movies and have a keen interest in history i think are uncultured fucking morons and anger me deeply.
I second that.

As George Santyana once said "Those who cannot remember the past, are condemned to repeat it"

I'm proud to be a nerd. I know more about the comic book Joker than anyone on Comic Vine, DC Comics forums, or Yahoo Answers. I used to be a proud otaku, but most anime fans are noobs who don;t respect the clasics & now it's too popular & that makes it boring.

And ever so humble. Remember Gaston from Beauty and the Beast? he thought he was the shit too, that's the feel you just left most everyone who read that post with. It's good you think so highly of yourself, but being frigid is not evidence of superiority, it is evidence of immaturity. A star in your college department, I am fully prepared to call bullshit on that, but I'll just leave you to think about not being in an ivy league university... couldn't afford it? So you didn't qualify for an athletic or academic scholarship? hmmmm....

Kidding around, it wasn't funny. Serious, post when you've written a cook book or joined the New York philharmonic, until then your just some kid who can't even say she's beautiful without waffling and too scared to talk about the boys she likes.

Yes I do feel superior about certain things. I feel superior to those who appear less learned in areas were I have somewhat of an understanding. I feel superior because I clearly am superior if I know more than them. That said this does not manifest into me pointing out how smart I think I am to those that I think are less knowledgeable.

EDIT: Added last sentence.

I hope you realise you're telling a teenage girl to not have so high opinion about herself. Anyway, with the, "I mean, seriously," part, I was hoping to insite a tone of sarchasm to the previous, "statement."
I am accomplished and I am proud of myself, and I could knock you down* at each of those points, but I'll leave it at that. ;)

*points if you get this refrence.

I feel superior during gym class, because there's only four or five of the people in my class (including me) who's fit. I also feel superior when correcting other people's grammar...
