Never. I imagine most of their fanbase would complain about this as it would ruin their game.

Well I don't play Wow so I'm probably not the best person to ask, but I imagine this is what would happen.
As someone who does play, I agree completely. They will not do this.

Of course, when they never do, people will simply forget about this thread and never call the OP on it. Win-win for them, it seems...
No,no I'm a shameless self promoter.
A masochist, then?

Incidentally, did anything prompt this calling out?

Oh, never mind. The faction change thing. A doomsayer, then.
No,No Just a good memory.
Back when i used to play Many wanted a "Quest completion tracker" And the response then was "No, We have nothing to track that".
With how very little the game has changed sense then i really don't think they have added anything to that effect yet.
And what might a "quest completion tracker" be? The quest list?

And if they haven't changed the game much since then, what makes you think they'll make a drastic change in policy and business integrity as gold selling?

On the City of Heroes forums, the standard response is DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM! But I've held back. Bad flashbacks to the release of Issue 12...
It was going to be a list you could look up on your character.
With,a list of all the quests you have done.
I couldn't speculate any one reason or other why they would,i just know that unless they start tracking the quests you have done it's a long way of gold selling.

I think that trading real-life products or money for in-game products or gold is kind of against the terms and conditions, isn't it? I mean, that's called Gold-Farming, yes? Kind of against the rules and also poor-sportsmanship.

No i was explaining that at the time, players wanted a "Quest history feature" unless some type of quest tracking system is implemented (instead of experience at level 80, you get a gold amount)then it's gold selling in a odd way, and no i have no idea on why they'd do this.

...I hate to overuse ellipsis markers, but I still don't see the connection between "system that lets you see what quests you've done" and "fundamentally altering the game economy by selling currency."

Maybe when they go subscription free? (i.e. never.) There have been two proven successful MMO cash generating ideas. The first is the popular monthly subscription, and the other is the in-game shop for items (which most 'free' Korean MMOs seem to utilize.) I've never heard of an MMO doing BOTH and still being successful. People would just revolt.

...You Hope
But I'm betting if it was handled with expert planning and care, it could be done.

I have to apologize to you, I'm wrong. Second life does it all the time.
They sell in game items, In game land. And in game cash for real money and have a beefy subscription rate.
