Recently I've been having problems running older games, while newer ones run fine. Games like Neverwinter Nights 2, Civilization 4 and Dawn of War: Soulstorm constantly crash. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening?

NVN2 and Civ4 have always run well under Vista, but I haven't checked whether they run under Win7. The first step is to set the compatibility to a different OS, although that's hardly a guarantee for success. Just right-click the game's icon and go to compatibility.
But more importantly, have you changed anything on your computer? Hardware, OS, new graphics drivers, etc?

Do you have a dual core processor?

I do, and it makes older games not work a lot of time.

If you do, when you start the game, go to the task manager, go to processes, right click on the games process, click "set affinity" and uncheck one of the boxes.

Wow... they're old?

What OS are you running?
They're aging.
I'm using XP.

Thanks. I'll try that.
