Every once in a while you have one of those unique experiences where you catch a glimpse of inspirational human intelligence. We were lucky enough to have such an experience at GDC in the hour we spent with Eskil Steenberg, the gifted programmer behind the fledgling one-man MMO project, Love. Once you get past the stage of incredulity at the idea that anyone would even attempt to create a massive game as a solo effort in the age of WoW-sized development and content teams, you start to get a window into exactly why this work in progress is unusual, preciously unique and extremely exciting.
I think of this like Spore, only its an MMO. And shockingly, its being made by ONE guy, Eskil Steenberg.

I wonder if anyone here at the escapist is writing an article on this?

So, what are your impressions / opinions on this? Do you have any more info about this?

Um.... I think it's kinda cool. Jakub, I don't think you read the article if you think that.

Very interesting idea, but i feel sceptical that he can pull it off properly. It might end up as a muddied clump, a creative one, but still unplayable.

I do on the other hand think that the graphical design is awesome.

I do think that, if people become more interested in this, a team would have to be put together, or else it might never get done.

I was digging the art too. It's refreshing to see people backing away from the uncanny valley of graphics and opting for style lately. I dunno if the user-generated story thing can pan out, but it certainly will look cool.

The art reminds me of Okami, curses upon those who forbade it to enter the xbox.

This WAS my first impression.

On second thought, this game seems to have a minimalistic design a la Darwinia.

I think the secret to making the user-generated story work is finite resources. Or at the very least, area specific resources.

It gives town A a reason to attack and try to conquer town B but stick to trading with town C because they're allied with town D.

The only trouble with this is that one group of people may grab the majority of the resources in an early stage and then be unkillable for the rest of the game's life...Unless...Unless new players start an uprising against the tyrranic controllers of the game, in which case that would be awesome.

Ah crap I'm rambling again. But ya's get my drift right?

Oh he'll succeed. Then EA will buy him, his mom, and his house, and we shall neither see nor hear from any of the three again. Especially his house.

Just like the oil companies and the electric car...

Anyway I looks trippy to say the least. I wonder if the gameplay will actually pan out or if it will just be a very pretty walking tour.

PS- Godspeed.
