Warning: This thread will likely contain spoilers, and this post alone has spoilers from the best moment in Alan Wake, you have been warned.

Alright, so yeah, I was playing Alan Wake and about halfway through the game you have a huge hectic battle on a stage while this song [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gwV0jMmvtt0] plays in the background. It's, literally, epic. It is also very similar to the finale of Dark Carnival of Left 4 Dead 2, another awesome struggle to survive with some rock and roll blaring in the background, greatly adding to how amazing these moments are. These are honestly two of my favorite events in gaming, because they're just so much fun.

And so I was thinking, what are your favorite events that you'll remember for a long time? Maybe the AC-130 from Call of Duty 4? Or an epic boss fight with amazing mood music? First time seeing a chainsaw zombie in Resident Evil?

Note: I'm talking more of a video game setpiece [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/VideoGameSetpiece] that everyone who plays the game will experience, not personal stories. And, I did run a search, it's just kind of a vague topic to search for.

The butterfly room in the Shivering Isles. Seriously. I was completely flabbergasted by how beautiful and unexpected that was.

Mine has to be the in MW2 and the EMP goes off during the Russian invasion in DC. Seeing all the jets and helicopters raining down and crashing everywhere was just crazy and tense.

The finale of Just Cause 2.
Four nuclear missiles are launched, so what's the logical route to take? Riding them, of course. You have to ride the missiles and disarm them from their own panels, while the president of Panau is shooting at you. Finally, you kick him into a missile, retarget it to Panau's oil supply, and preemtively end World War 3. I swear, in the game, this makes total sense.
Oh man, I can't believe I forgot about that. That was definitely awesome.

Fighting a midget president of a communist nation while riding nuclear missiles. Why? It's just cause.

I was gonna post this.
I know that realistically the helicopters should just slowly autorotate down, but as a moment of awesomeness it really worked.

There was this one moment from this one game that was awesome but I really can't remember what it was right now.

Oh, you blasted first posting ninja!
That was one of the best moments of my gaming career.

I'd also like to nominate another moment from Red Dead Redemption.

Trekking back to your ranch after killing Dutch. The song that plays on the way back is just brilliant. Just brilliant.

Another moment is in Bioshock and when you kill a Big Daddy. The Little Sisters crying will haunt me 'til the day I stop gaming. Or die, whatever comes first. Both will be on the same day, probably.

The opening game play sequence of Mass Effect 2...
Yeah, that and the last 20 minutes on the collector ship. Mostly due to the incredible music.
