I was gonna say the exact same thing that Johnathan Sullivan(the guy 3 posts above me) said.
Get the Vile Lair DLC, then go to Deepscorn Hollow(added by the DLC), and there's gonna be a fountain somewhere inside(I think you have to turn left twice since you come in. There will be a big pool of water with something that kinda looks like the Washington Monument, but don't mind it at first. At the left side of the room with the 'fountain' there is a vein, which you can mine to obtain a special kind of 'salt'. Use the salt on the 'fountain' and you'll be cured.

Oh yeah, The Escapist isn't your Twitter.

I guess the discussion value is in sharing experiences with vampirism in Oblivion?
Yeah that's what I'm going with.
I grabbed this on steam a while back, I had only played it on Xbox 360 at a friends before so I was keen to sit down and play it fully.
8 hours in I get infected with the vampuric curse and I die in fire.. or I guess sunlight.
So I alt tab out and google "how do I cure vampirism" (this was my first time experiencing this and I couldn't find anything ingame on how to cure it so save your 'noob' comments please) only to find it was a fairly long quest line that required laborious time management.
AKA sitting around waiting for night time and running between rivers and trees to meet the 5 minute window where I could talk to someone and honestly... I just couldn't be bothered.
It wasn't worth the effort of curing it but it wasn't worth the effort of restarting and doing the arena and the handful of quests I had done in the imperial city all over again either, so I just quit the game. I guess you could call me a noob for quitting a game I was having fun with just cause I was too lazy to fix one little thing though but meh, the devs got my money and I got 8 or 9 hours of entertainment for 14 dollars, seems fair to me.

I had the same issue really sucks if you don't know about it, there is a work around you just need a non GOTY version disk put any dlc items in dlc ares they should re appear later, you jusy swap disks and you can complete the quest on the non GOTY version and then switch back not really all that helpful but it does work.

Actually after playing some more, I found that if I drink blood I can walk in the sun for a few hrs..guess I'll live with it...sorta. Now to get rid of the curse from my Knights of the Nine quest..gauntlets are not worth the -5 fatigue haha. I played Fallouts to death but am a noob at Elder scrolls

For the record it didnt WARN me I was turning..just gave me random creepy dream quotes.
It isn't your problem, it is the dev's. You don't need to make excuses for Bethesda's poor design ability.

._. Seriously, does no one know the 'change the system language' fix but me?
Changed the language to German, spoke to the witch and she was all 'Yeah, I take your bloodgrass, bro.'
Changed it back, hey presto, no more vampirism problem for me.
Only thing is that is forces a reset of shivering isles.

Are we assuming you've tried the vampire cure quest?

If so, then either A) Suck it up (Pun intended) and live with your newfound dietary requirements or B) Suck it up (Pun not quite as intended) and make a new character.

Got infected in the PC version, forgot to cure it before it took hold and found out it was really hard to cure. Reloaded to a much earlier save but by this point was thoroughly pissed off at the game anyway so I quit. The only thing I like about Oblivion is the pretty countryside, everything else messes it up.

You should have done your research, the PS3 version is inferior in almost every way (to both PC and Xbox), even worse glitches and bugs, worse visuals, etc, blame yourself

This is why we need command consoles in the console version.
You know what? Considering how easy it is to bring up virtual keyboards on the PS3/360 I don't know why you couldn't choose to impliment them. May require more work on their part, but I can't imagine why it's not doable.

Considering how many bugs Bethesda's games have (and Obsidian, with FO:NV), you'd think they'd have added it in already.
Trophies and Achievements is the reason why
