I have a dark sense of humour and I'm in my element watching The Crow or reading Johnny the Homicidal Maniac comics. However, I'm not goth-I don't adhere to the fashion anyway, but I often feel like I could be swaying towards the mindset. The goth mindset as I have heard it described is someone who finds the beauty in dark or negative things.
So, what does this make me? A goth in all but the look? A regular mainstream guy? Something else? I know it's not good to label one's self, but just humour me if you will.
Does it matter? I feel more or less the same and it doesn't matter. That stuff is simply much more interesting to some people. Personally, I rather like Gothic style. Many people consider me so simply because I wear a lot of black and like that stuff. However, why should it matter at all? All it means is that you have a different opinion to some on what you find cool, or beautiful. Well done anyways. Have fun.mik hardcore said:I want to know if there is a word for people like me. It's pretty normal though, I found that in college people really don't seem to care as much, and you'll find a lot of people throughout your life that share similar views. That first bit's really sad. Never, ever be afraid of showing yourself to others, or admitting things about yourself. If it's something like that, then if they cared for you even slightly, they shouldn't give the slightest shit, since you're the same person you've ever been. If they do care, and make a big thing about it, fuck em. They're not worth your time, or your feelings if they can't accept something like that; if they can't accept you for who you are. Yeah, that sort of stuff gets to me a bit.
Anyways, sorry, hope I helped, if you needed help.![]()
Yes, I know. While I agree, I also believe that many people do fit themselves into niche groups, either with their fashion or whatever. I think the point of this thread was to clarify whether or not my own preferences were 'niche' or more widespread, simply out of my own curiosity. I appreciate yours and everyones responses. It has given me much to think about.Battenbergcake said:See someone like you is what we call in the bussiness an indivdual which is a good thing.
Besides you seem like the kinda of person who should understand their no real thing such as "normal".
You like good movies. This wins you a cookie.mik hardcore said:I'm in my element watching The Crow
Sounds to me like you have a lot of gothic mentalities, as long as you're an intellectual as well as being the things that you mentioned.mik hardcore said:I want to know if there is a word for people like me.
