Heh, the same thing happened to me once - but I convinced everyone else to push on thinking that if the tank was still spawned then it wouldn't spawn another during the standoff.

hold on, wait wait wait, I've not played Metroid prime 3 yet, but you didn't like it? have you played the other Primes? buying Metroid Prime 3 doesn't make you stupid, its a good investment, for Nintendo that is! they has your monies!

in terms of stupidity, I didn't know that Nintendo had stopped support for the gamecube just before the Wii came out, so i went into Game and looked for a game to buy, not being able to see a gamecube section I asked the staff where the gamecube games were? here is a transcript of what was said.

Coldstorage; "where are your gamecube games?"
staff; "we dont sell gamecube games, its obsolete, nintendo doesn't support it anymore"
Coldstorage "what?"
bunch of kids; "ahhahaahahha, you have a gamecube?, your like 25, get a console for adults"
coldstorage "BUT ITS GREAT!!"
*storms out of shop mumbling how shit this place is*

Nope, I've never played the other Metroid Primes and I assure you that I consider it a total waste of money. Of course, that's me against 90+ % of everyone else who's played it but I honsestly don't see what's so great about it.

Linear
Arcadey boss fights, aka, run around in circles strafing the big baddy and hit the shiny gem.
Cheesy
Sci-fi so soft it's like crap, take that statement whichever way you'd like, you're probably right.
The horrid quick time event in the boss fight at one point that felt like it was an after thought, and probably was.

The only thing I thought was good about it was the control scheme. I seriously don't understand why so many people think it was amazing. I have a creeping suspicion it has something to do with fanboyism...

edit: Oh, I forgot, what would probably make the boss fights funner, for me anyway, is if you didn't move as fast as you did forwards while walking sideways. Also, I think Samus' ship looks ugly, but that has nothing to do with gameplay.

each to their own, I'm shocked, I've had alot of friends buy metroid prime, but only play 5 minutes of it, because they didn't get it.... after I've told them off they now tell me they think its great, either they really do think its great or they are scared i may bore them to death again.

And Samus' ship isn't ugly!, it was designed for her by the chozo, have you no respect?

I accidentally committed suicide by shooting myself in the head though one of the portals in Prey.

I accidentally did that playing lasertag with a triangle of mirrors. Apparently that counts.
