Never! When I'm at work I come in to teach even when I cannot speak!!

Actually that's not even an exaggeration. I taught a 12 hour shift at my language school when I lost my voice. Great Teacher Beniki can teach 4 year olds English with nothing but stern looks, smiles and a board marker.

But.. er... when I was school I used to skip a lot. Guess I'm making up the balance now.

In high school I never took sick days, the only time I took off was for my grandmothers funeral and a few days during the exams when I had appendicitis. (not fun, I had to redo that year which happened to be my second last)
Now that I'm in college I've only taken 2 days off that weren't justifiable with illness, but that was because I could barely get out of bed, I was so tired and couldn't for the life of me muster the motivation to face 7 hours of sitting in front of a computer doing IT.

Many many times, though that was in elementary / high school and it did not matter that I didn't go.

I have also skipped classes in university but I regret every single time.

As for work? No, I have thus far been paid by the hour, so there is not advantage to me skipping.

You're a good person if you feel guilty. I have, but it depends on the place/who I'm inconveniencing. If my boss is nice then I may feel a little bad, if they're an unreasonable career-oriented jerk who treats their workers badly, screw them. Ultimately we're forced to lie because the world of business is too damn serious or the people we're dealing with too inflexible.

But never for work. It's called a 'work ethic'; I'm being paid to show up and do my job. If I need time off, I schedule it. Calling in "sick" when you're not sick is childish.

I've gone to work sick more often than I do 'pretend' to be sick. (More likely mildly and lacking motivation/interest to slave minimum wage/8 hours).

I don't recall taking a day off if I wasn't actually ill. I hate missing a day which I have to be in as it is a real hassle to get the notes and catch up on the work. If I miss the day and I have labs then I would feel absolutely terrible as my partner would have to pick up the slack.

Never did. In fact, I've gone exactly the opposite way - going into work when I was cripplingly ill.

This until recently. Still even knowing I was sick I still felt guilty for not going. But when I returned after 2 days off sick my boss laughed at my face (I was still coughing my lungs out and with a bit of temperature) and said I knew if I thought I was fit to survive another day of work in those conditions. Then I felt actually a dumbass and thought why didnt I put more a few days off sick.

I'm the same way. Missing work is something that's mind boggling to me. I've been to work the day after I broke an elbow, the morning after I spent all night in a hospital, and when I got the flu (the bad kind aka the little piggy one). I probably should have been at home when I had the h1n1 for everyone else's sake, but everyone came out unscathed. I help set the bar at my work and it's pretty frowned upon to call out.

Never felt guilty, I used to work stupidly long hours 6 days a week, I deserved more time off.

Yes. I Managed to get about a month straight off due to an illness I recovered from after days and heavy snow even though I could get out after about a week.

When I was skipping school, not in the slightest. Imagine my surprise, many years later (I'm 37 now) when my Mum told me that she always knew when I was faking it but figured I had my reasons and let me get away with it. Thanks mum =D

At work? Sometimes I suppose. But I never took a day off because I just didn't feel like it, just when I didn't feel right but didn't necessarily have a symptom that I could describe.
