IMO Bioshock 2 multiplayer is crap.

First off, the research feature is unique, but unbalanced. First off(again) Only the killer of the player should be able to research the victim, second off is that the 10% damage bonus you get won´t go away until the one you kill your killer, which is pretty much impossible if your killer doesn´t either **** up, is low on health or you flank him.

Also, was it REALLY neccesary to put in the Big Daddy suit? With a competent team and a big daddy suit, you win. I will admit that it is rather fun when you try it yourself, but so is taking drugs. And the matchmaking is FUBAR. I once was matched up with a team of level 3,4 and 5 against a team of 35,38,40.

Also, the game is unbalanced. The nailgun will win in a close quarter situation 9/10 times. The grenade lanucher begs to be spammed, and with homing missles, that is rather easy and rewarding. You can also charge a plasmid forever as long as you have eve, and you won´t run out considering you pick it up every nanosecond, and charging drains almost nothing.

Sorry, just nedeed to vent, EA servers are dead so i can´t play the BC2 demo instead. Lol, that rhymes. Anyway, awesomeClaw out.

And now I have to combine them.

Super-awesome-mega-fun anyone?

OT: I haven't played it, but it does look really clusterfucky with all the plasmid powers going around.

Maybe this is just me, but I generally disagree. Yes, the research function does give an advantage to the player--but only in a face to face shoot out. I've come up behind people with a damage bonus on me, and a quick burst of Incinerate! and a few bullets was all it took. And yes, the Big Daddy suit gives a serious advantage to whoever's in it, but its health doesn't regenerate, and once they're dead, they probably won't get the suit again. Matchmaking, however, I can't defend. That does suck. And yes, the grenade launcher annoys me. But every game has its issues, and at least there's only one cheap weapon out there (so far).

I wouldn't have it any other way...

yeah there is a reason I decided not to buy this game

bioshock imo should be carried solely but it's single player because the idea of plasmids just doesnlt translate well to multi

I haven't played it that's just what I think

I've played a bit of it and yeah I have some issues with it, but I think its pretty good.

Also my entire team took out a Big Daddy in a matter of seconds. I don't see them that over powered.

Then you clearly haven´t met a competent team that sticks with the big daddy in a small room.

multiplayer was something of an after thought but it was generally well made and dosent feel tacked on in the slighest all in all i disagree with you. the big daddy falls in seconds against the drill gun, and every advantage is met with a disadvantage.

No I have not, again I only played it for a short while so I'm probably wrong.

I shall refute your post...

The research feature hasn't ever really seen to be a major flaw to me. I don't generally notice it. I just walk around and research every dead body I can find, and others do the same. If you're good at the game you will flank your enemies. It's called strategy, use it so you can overcome this 'impossible' odds.

As for the Rosie suit, it's both overpowered and underpowered at the same time. Early in the game, when you're low ranked, possession of the Suit will mean complete victory for your team, without exception. Later on however, when you're somewhere in rank 20 or so, the suit takes a significantly lower appeal. I've once donned the suit for a total of 10 seconds before dieing. A competent team, if it controls the suit, will win over an incompetent team. Then again, a competent team will win over an incompetent team regardless. Again, strategy is key.

As for the nail gun, I personally don't quite like it. Shotty is my friend. I've taken out nail-gun using enemies with the shotty plenty of times. The Grenade Launcher is slightly unbalanced but it's still easy to overcome, and when you put homing capabilities into it, it will take 3 shots to kill an enemy instead of 2 which makes a surprisingly huge difference.

Holding plasmids, I've not run into as an issue.

Matchmaking... I'll give you to an extant. You can party up with people of all different ranks and end up with parties of varying level.

It's not perfect multiplayer, but I find it fun.

I was honestly quite disappointed when I heard that Bioshock 2 would include multiplayer. I generally dislike multiplayer games that are not Team Fortress 2, and the fact that almost every game these days feels the need to tack on some crappy little multiplayer mode really annoys me. Bioshock did not do this, and this, if you ask me, led to the quality of the single player being much better. Bioshock 2's inclusion of multiplayer was a gigantic sellout in my book.

I find that the research doesn't give you to much of a disadvantage and I find the big daddy pretty easy to kill, get up behind him with a nail gun or shotgun and you can take away over half his health :p

Meh, it's ok, but your title could have contained less flame bait. I hate having to earn the weapons, plasmids and tonics though.

I find the multiplayer quite enjoyable. I mean, one of my biggest gripes is that you can accidentally set yourself on fire at times with your own Plasmids, but I found the gameplay to be fun. Playing Capture the Sister is challenging yet rewarding for such a fun experience. However, the one thing I wish they would change is certain match lengths. 3:00 for Capture the Sister is somewhat lacking and only having to hold the Sister for the same amount of time makes games shorter than they need to be.

Other than time constraints, I thought multiplayer was fun. The reason you have to unlock plasmids and weapons is so that there is no overpowering and people don't kill Rank 1 players from the get go. I find it balanced.

when I heard about hte multiplayer getting into hte game oen thing came to mind.

Metroid Prime 2 Echoes. That was a single player game and they tacked on multiplayer for no reason at all. That was a multiplayer that was complete and utter SHIT. I feel that the single player could have been better if they had put those resources needed for it in a more useful direction.

In the same way I predicted that Bioshock's wouldn't be very good either and I heard that people were dissapointed that the single player was more of hte same. TO think what would have happened if they hadn't put in multiplayer...

My two cents.
