So seeing as how I am now a delivery boy (pizza) my dad (and other people) have told me it will wreck my car (starting and stopping) and I have figured out it's my starter (that would get wrecked....before other things) so how much is a starter? My car is a 2004 Pontiac Grand AM

It will not wreck your car. Just leave it running when you drop off the pizza. Thats what all the other delivery drivers do.

Yeah I've been thinking about doing that, but you know not when I go into an apartment or something, I'll have to remember that when I deliver to a house or something......uuuummm stupid question I just thought of, if I leave my car running and close the door will it auto lock at any time?

It shouldn't, but someone will probably jack your car eventually.

Yeah but not if I'm right there (I'd only leave my car running if I was in a driveway and delivering to a house, not if I did an apartment building or office building)

Just make sure you keep up on your vehicle maintenance (oil change, transmission system flush and change, etc.)
Letting your car go for the full mileage between fluid changes, especially if you're driving in a high vehicle stress environment can rapidly wear down your vehicle's internals. Have your fluids checked and changed at least twice a year.

New windshield wipers won't hurt, either.

Just got those new a while ago (few months) and just went in for a 40 point thing, so they changed all my fluids and oils and stuff also I don't really work in a vehicle stress environment, only really when I have to go down the highway to get to the next town (which really only takes a few minutes) it's a small town that I work in (well not too small) only problem I have with it is all the pot holes and bumps and stuff, makes me so paranoid when ever I go over one

Can anyone confirm this?? Because I have been told by many people that it will ruin it
If your starter is going bad already, starting and stopping the engine will make it much, much worse. If the starter is perfectly fine, it wont do much.

How do I tell anyway if my starter is bad?

I will explain it.

Your car can be wrecked by constant stopping and starting if you haven't changed the oil frequently enough, if the filter or the oil pickup pipe is blocked, on some engines if the oil feed pipe nozzles are blocked, or if you have put the wrong oil in and it is too thick.

This is because if any of the above conditions occur, oil isn't circulated around your engine properly and it wears out prematurely. Running it for a short period of time causes the oil to settle in the bottom if the oil can't move easily.

The starter motor commutator bushes are what usually fail on starter motors, and frequency of use does wear them down. But they are remarkably cheap anyway, and starting and stopping won't wreck your engine unless your car is a poor starter and you need to crank it several times to get it going.

I dont know about the cost of a starter specifically but I just had a new ignition switch installed in a 2001 Malibu and parts, labor, plus computer diagnostics was 375 USD. Hope that helps.

So basically change my oil every so often, also what do you mean by crank it? (I should mention now I only know how to drive a car, I know NOTHING about them, well very little)

Oh...well then, what if my car (as I put my key in and turn it) makes that kind of noise that tells you it's gonna take a second or two to start up? I really can't describe the noise
