Probably the day I was born.

If that day didn't exist... I wouldn't really be alive.

I was going to answer that the most important days were when my children were born, or when I met my husband, but those days weren't important when they happened. When my children were born, I was too busy giving birth (which is an awsome experience, but gives no hint of what a life changer having kids is). When I met my husband, I didn't know he was going to be my husband.

Individual days aren't that important, the total of your life is what matters. If you are now an adult in your country, with the rights and responsibilities of an adult, the change will be clear to you in the years to come.

When I was about 12 or 13 my father called me downstairs. He said he wanted to play something for me. He pulled out an old 45 and put it on the turn table. The song that played forever influenced my life. It was Dead Kennedys Too Drunk to Fuck.

Before that moment I had never heard music so raw or captivating. From that moment on, I have been influenced by the Punk mentality. Even in high school and college when I was really into metal, I was still drawn to the punk mindset. The idea of pushing the limits and challenging the norm. Metal always bored me and it took me years to figure out why exactly. Most metal is just so cookie cutter.

For the record, punk is not a style of music, it is a mentality. This quote sums it up perfectly: "A guy walks up to me and asks 'What's Punk?' So I kick over a garbage can and say 'That's punk!' So he kicks over a garbage can and says 'That's punk?' and I say 'No, that's trendy!'"
