Why doesnt the required evil jedi just use his force (which 9/10 is more beefy than the nice jedi, with the exception of yoda who is the most badass furby EVAR) to do darth vaders old wind pipe trick?

I mean what can the nice jedi do to stop it? he tries to force the guys force off his neck...um...force...he could do himself a nasty back injury.

Is it just because lucas wanted jedi fights to be a bit longer than *lightsaber on* *force choke* *evil laugh* *next jedi*

Also i think this post is the logical limit of times you can use "force" in 5 lines

It helps that the Force Choke power is not dark-side exclusive, and that Jedi abilities are typically equivalent to other Jedi with similar experience. As well, very few Jedi, dark or otherwise, display much talent with Force Choke other than Luke, Anakin, and Jacen.

So, if I wanted to make you projectile vomit, I would go on to explain that the first hits for 1-6 points damage, +10 bonus Physical, and 100% Stun for 36 seconds. A successful Save of DC 15 + the attacking character level + attacking character Strength modifier + the attacking character Estrogen level reduces damage by half and changes Stun to Slow.

The second doubles your Critical Strike range for 20 minutes.

And yeah, Sith women would be pretty hot.

The jedi don't use the force to cause pain. They would rather take someone alive then kill them. The sith on the other hand will kill you without a second thought if you looked at them the wrong way.

In Return of the Jedi, Luke uses Force Choke. When I saw that, I was like, 'WTF?!' Sure, it wasn't the full Choke, but he Pushed the throats of two Gamorreans.

The force of a Dark Jedi/ Sith is not necessarely stronger than a Good Jedi's... it's just more agressive and the force powers are more focused on inflicting raw damage. The good jedi has more defensive powers...

Darth Vader could not use all Force Powers. Unfortunately, because he weared cybernetic implants to stay alive he could not for example use the 'force lightning' (which was the think that killed him in the end). He could only use telekinetic force powers, like the Choke or throwing objects.

We must also remember that using a power like the force lightning is not easy mastered or used (Darth Maul Never used it perhaps he had not learned how by the time) and probably using such technique required a lot of focus and strain, although the Emperor had little difficulty with it and uses it plenty.

Besides... While you concentrate to perform a force attack the oppenent may be quick to slice you up...

Force lighting could easily be stopped by using your lightsaber (like Mace and Obi-Wan show), and Yoda could even send it back to sender.

In the end if two Jedi/Sith were more or less evenly matched in terms of the Force, it came down to the lightsaber duel, which is in itself a manifestation of the force since they clearly use the force to predict the opponent moves and to make themselves quicker and more agile or stronger.

Interesting Question. I could now draw into all my extensive Knowledge about Star wars and the Force, as someone commented once that i had a full Star Wars Lexika in my head since i used to read through wookiepedia in my free time (Wookiepedia being a Star Wars Wikipedia). So since i could do that, i will.

First of all, the Force, despite popular belief isnt dark or light. Every Power you have can be used good or bad, the way you use it makes you the "evil/good" guy. For example, i use the Power Precognition (basicly seeing into the Future) to predict the Lottery, using said Power to win would be a "bad" thng, doing not so would be "good", its as simple as that. Sith and Dark Jedi do use Powers that are based on fighting, the Jedi prefering more defensive abilities, Luke and Anakin, being Jedi were however quite able to use those Powers. The Light and Dark side are basicly the Manifestation of the Human Mind, if you had Power that could be described as godlike, how would you use it? Thats what it comes down to. The Reason the Sith use the "Dark Side" is that their Belief is not about Dominance, Conquest or whatever, they simply believed into Evolution: The Strong survive, the weak die. Therefore they are more biased towards Conflict in all ways instead of keeping Peace like the Jedi do. Doesnt make the Sith warmongering Marauders however, Palpatine for example had quite the brilliant Mind, Revan was a Military Genius, the list goes on and on. Sure there are the ones that just want to "kick the door in", but there are also those that have real goals behind it other than being "epic".

Long Story short, Sith are Jedi, Jedi are Sith, just with a different Point of View, neither bad or good. So both have access to the same Powers, they just prefer some over others because of what they believe in.

entropy is bang on. More focused on in Darth Bane: Path of Destruction than any other book, one of first lessons Blademaster Kas'im (Bane's Teacher) shows is how to focus the Force to blunt the telekinesis of others to prevent other Force-users from choking you/yoinking your Lightsaber right out of your hands/crushing your unmentionables to one-eighth size. This can still happen if the opposing Force-user is far stronger (see: the Clone Wars animated series), but this is why folks don't just Force choke and be done with it. Untrained people, of course, are fair game.

wow i wasnt expecting this to turn into a full blown thing about whether the force is good or evil and whatnot, but entropy how would he manage to slice you up when your windpipe is in the process of being force choked, id think that if you were to run at someone and they start force choking you it would be like a clothes line sorta thing.

But I'm pretty sure you can counter one force power with another. Like how yoda sucks up the emperors lighting and how OB1 and Vader were both force pushing each other at the same time. So if you did get force choked, I bet you could force out of it, maybe. But then, I'm not sure how many children Vader chocked to death with it.
