in console gaming game seem to now lack any kind of unlockable cheats. Myself I really like to replay a game and have fun with cheats, game such goldeneye 64 was kind of perfect for this.
Should game now have a way to easily get cheats throughout some method similar to the "console" in several game like half life.

There was plently in GTA 4 and Saint's row and I think those are the only kinda games there should be cheat codes; free world, sandbox games where one day you can hop in and play the story or other days you can Fu** around, put in codes to give you unlimted Ammo and No Gravity and just go crazy and have fun.

I only use cheats on my second playthrough, unless it's GTA, in which case I immediately spawn a lot of guns and cars.

Because I currently finished my 2 play through in megaman 9 and 10 and would be very fun for me to replay with some cheat, like god or unlimited special ammo, I'm a big fan of megaman

I actually don't mind that games nowadays don't main cheat codes. Since there are usually other ways to exploit a game, it just makes people get creative about it. Besides, you usually can unlock something along the lines of a cheat once you beat a game or some specific part of it.

I usually only see cheats being available in sandbox games like GTA, Saints Row and even Red Faction Guerilla had some. But i rarely used them if at all because i tend to be a completionist nowadays

Though not technically cheat codes there are ways to get infinite skills in some games by exploiting glitches. New Vegas and Borderlands are the more recent 2 games I own where that was possible. They make replaying the game waaaaaay more fun.

As for actual true cheat codes built into the game I have not seen any in years.

OT: i miss the codes that you have to make something to unlock them, they were a nice reward and added replayability to the game and some where actually fun, like all the codes from Turok
