Hello Trainers! My name is Professor Oak. Welcome to the amazing world of Pokémon!

This world is inhabited by powerful creatures called Pokémon.

For thousands of years, humans and Pokémon have lived in harmony. Some of us do battle with them, some of us breed them and some have Pokémon to keep them company or to help them with work.

Unfortunately there are also those who would use them for their own nefarious agendas.

It's been ten years since some of the most exceptional trainers I've ever had the pleasure of knowing made sure that these evil men would not have their way, though. One of them is my grandson, actually... uh... what was his name again? Blue! Yes, Blue Oak. You might find him in the Viridian City gym every once in a while.

But enough about ancient history, I see 12 young men and women in front of me. Won't you tell this old man something about yourselves?

Name: Remy Olivier

Age: 22

Gender: Male

City/Region: Veilstone City, Sinnoh

Appearance: Roughly 6ft tall and with an average build, Remy is instantly recognizable thanks to his shaggy head of bright red hair. He has fair skin, typical to a denizen of the North and wears baggy, army green cargo pants, black boots, band t-shirts and a black leather jacket, a memento of his late father which he's customized with a red decal of a Zangoose's scars. His face always has a lazy look about it, always in a half dazed smile, coupled with reddish brown eyes which seem to struggle to stay open . Always the womanizer, few girls actually give him the time of day and their rejections tend to become quite violent at times.

Personality: A free spirited lover of life. Remy is the personification of "devil may care". Being from Sinnoh, Remy has a "country bumpkin" air to him. He loves everything life has to offer: Pokemon, music, women, taking naps under trees and more women. He's friendly to the point where people actually find him unbearable. Those who can suffer him for more than 30 minutes, however, would find in him a friend of unwavering loyalty. Remy treats his Pokemon like brothers and throws himself wholeheartedly into battle with them, completely forgoing his lazy demeanor.

Biography: Raised by his grandmother in Sinnoh's Veilstone City after the death of his parents, Remy was taught to enjoy life and to help others enjoy it as well. When he was 10 he found a wounded Zangoose in the warehouse district, a long way from it's natural habitat of Hoenn. After 2 hours of "heavy negotiation" a scratched up Remy brought what would be his most loyal companion home to get healed. By age 15 Remy's grandmother had died as well. With no one left to raise him Remy took to the streets doing whatever he could to get by: working in the warehouses, Pokemon battles and even a bit of pickpocketing (made easier by the Sneasel he now owned after a trip to Snowpoint city). At age 22, Remy has long since left Sinnoh and is wandering around Johto. When he hears of the Tournament being held in Goldenrod, he immediately jumps at the opportunity.

"15.000P? Wooohoo! Let's go make Remy rich, boys!"

Pokemon:
Zangoose, Lvl 31 MALE
-Slash
-Quick Attack
-Swords Dance
-Leer
-Pursuit
-Crush Claw
Zangoose is Remy's first Pokemon. Saving it from injury (somewhat against it's will) in Veilstone, the two have been thick as thieves ever since. There's no master/servant relationship between the two. Zangoose is as likely to scold and boss Remy around as he is. Zangoose has a careful nature and is generally a no nonsense Pokemon. As with all Zangoose, it has a deep seated hatred for Seviper.

Sneasel, Lvl 29 MALE
-Faint Attack
-Taunt
-Thief (TM)
-Fury Swipes
-Ice Shard (Egg Move)
-Agility
Sneasel is Remy's second Pokemon. Hatched from an abandoned egg near Snowpoint City, it has since become somewhat of a naughty natured foil to Zangoose's seriousness. It excels at stealing shiny things, so Remy usually keeps it out of its ball and on his shoulder. In battle, Sneasel is agile if a bit of a glass jaw. Being a Sneasel, it tends to put bird Pokemon on edge, because of its primary diet of bird eggs.

Primeape, Lvl 28 MALE
-Karate Chop
-Low Kick
-Seismic Toss
-Rage
-Assurance
-Screech
Primeape was caught while Remy traveled around Kanto. A rash natured ball of untameable energy, Primeape is the furious enforcer of Remy's little band of thieves. Very undisciplined as Fighting-types go, it fights solely for the thrill of the fight. This prompts it to sometimes make stupid mistakes which, while possibly working his way, often hurt him too. After spending time on Remy's team however, he's begun to trust his Trainer's abilities. A trust that's difficult to earn from Fighting-types.

Tentacool, Lvl 25 Male
-Bubblebeam
-Acid
-Supersonic
-Wrap
-Toxic Spikes
-Poison Sting
Tentacool was somewhat of an accident. One day while fishing in Olivine City, Remy caught a Tentacool. After defeating it with his Sneasel, Remy ignored the Jellyfish Pokemon and left at the end of the day. That night at the local PokeCenter, while looking for something in his backpack he was stunned (literally) to find Tentacool wrapped around a Lure Ball inside. Apparently this one was eager to join Remy, so he complied and caught it. Tentacool has only been used in battles that require it's type combination. It's a quiet little fellow, that's eager to please its new friend.

-Evrant
Name: Caleb Grey
Age: 22
Gender: Male
City/Region: Lilycove City/Hoenn Region
Appearance:
Standing at around 6'2'' in height, and with a light athletic body, Caleb tends to wear smart respectable attire. He has light grey, shoulder length hair, and a match goatee and moustache. He also has violet coloured eyes. His attire culminates in a light grey short sleeved shirt, and a dark violet coloured tie; these are worn underneath a dark grey waistcoat. Black trousers and long leather boots complete his regular attire. Finally, he also wears a dark red coat, which reaches down to the shins. This combined with a duelling sword, primarily for decoration and combat, gives Caleb a sophisticated, gentlemanly appearance, which ladies find rather attractive.

Personality:
Caleb is a rather cool, calm and collected individual, often preferring to think things over, rather than settle for just brute force or taking the option that seems easiest; this overall makes him a rather tactical person. His gentlemanly nature makes him rather charming to those of the female gender; seeing him as a rather kind, friendly person. All in all, he can be rather friendly. When in a good mood, he is polite and diligent, often taking good care of the Pokemon he raises. There are at times however, where he can be a daring swashbuckler, always looking for adventure.

Biography:
Born in Lilycove City, Caleb grew up in a rather calm environment, often going out to explore the world around him, when there were times that his home seemed rather dull and uninteresting; mainly because his parents were aristocratic in nature. During his childhood, he was taught how to be a gentleman, was given a full education, but also learnt how to fence.

When he was 18, he finally decided to become a Pokemon trainer, so he went along to Littleroot Town, and chose Torchic as his starter; having discovered what it would turn into once it fully evolved. He then set off to explore the other regions of the world, which he could easily do thanks in part to his influential parents.

Over the next four years, he explored the world, making many new friends, both in humans and in Pokemon. Currently, he was touring the Johto region again, when news of a tournament in Goldenrod City piqued his interest.

Name: Daria Pace
Gender: Female
Age: 21
City-Region: Pewter City, Kanto Region

Appearance: Stands at 5'9", with an agile build; slight tan from being in the sun so often. Her face is a wild sort of feminine, with a wide grin that could pass for a boisterous macho man's. Her eyes are gray-blue, and look fierce and eager as often as anyone ever sees them. However, they're usually hidden behind a pair of black oval shades.

Her hair is brown, and only barely combed, with most of it drawn back into a short spiked ponytail coming out the back of her black and orange baseball cap. Two large antennae of them frame the side of her face.

Her clothing is a tad outlandish, with a black T-shirt with a Great Ball decal over her chest. On top of that, she wears an orange jacket, with white short sleeves and a high collar as high as the halfway point of her cheeks. On the back of the jacket is a black and gray decal of a clenched fist. She wears simple blue jeans over her legs, and brown combat boots. She also tends to carry a gray and orange backpack with her at all times to hold her equipment.

Personality: Very fiery and with a lust for battle, Daria enjoys and cannot deny any challenges. She makes a habit of tough love, viewing battling as a way to get to know and develop a relationship with people. She has a very difficult time being tender with anyone but her Pokemon, and it shows in interactions on a deeper level, where she can become downright awkward.

Her battle-frenzy is tempered by a very powerful sense of justice, but they complement each other to her detriment at times. When she sees a wrong being committed, she absolutely cannot let it go, and will butt heads with anyone in her path to fix the situation.

She trains her Pokemon, trying to inspire them to be the greatest they can be by being both an inspiring leader and a merciless drillmaster.

Biography: Born in Pewter City, Daria grew up in an environment of intense training alongside many other battle-happy trainers to be. Given a Geodude at the tender age of five, she trained fervently alongside her beloved Pokemon to become the greatest trainer of the city. By the time she reached age ten, she was already insanely physically active, and a savvy trainer.

She stayed in Pewter City through her teenaged years, until she turned 21. As her little brother trained and prepared for the day he would start his own journey, it occurred to her that she'd never really made an attempt at it herself. She felt a sudden urge to strike out on her own, to make a name for herself.

She said goodbye to her parents and her brother, and went to Pallet Town to receive her starter Pokemon from the Kanto region's Pokemon Professor, Oak. She chose Charmander, and with him and Geodude she set out to conquer the Pokemon League. She picked up more friends along the way, and had just conquered Lieutenant Surge and the Vermillion City Gym when she heard of a Pokemon Tournament calling all trainers to test their strength.

She was unable to resist, and with her party took off.

Pokemon:
Slagger (Golem, Male) Lvl 30
- BRICK BREAK (TM)
- DEFENSE CURL
- ROLLOUT
- MAGNITUDE
- SMACK DOWN
- TOXIC (TM)
Daria's very first Pokemon, given to her as a Geodude. Very single-minded and raring for battle at any time, acts as a faithful sidekick to Daria's antics. Can be a bit goofy when trying to earn his trainer's approval.

Spiegel (Charmeleon, Male) Lvl 29
- SMOKESCREEN
- DRAGON RAGE
- SCARY FACE
- FIRE FANG
- GROWL
- BRICK BREAK (TM)
The starter Pokemon given to her by Professor Oak, Spiegel is very slick and fancies himself a charismatic leader-type. He is generally ashamed of his trainer's antics, but is also rabidly loyal to her.

Jet (Hitmonlee, Male) Lvl 29
- MEDITATE
- DOUBLE KICK
- BRICK BREAK
- FOCUS ENERGY
- HI JUMP KICK
- ROLLING KICK
Acquired when a particularly brutal match between her and a traveling Black Belt from the Saffron Fighting Gym ended in a tie, as a reward for Daria's dedication to training her own body along with her Pokemon's. Solely focused on self-betterment in combat, is very quiet and reserved outside of training.

Gemini (Staryu, Female) Lvl 28
- HARDEN
- WATER GUN
- RECOVER
- RAPID SPIN
- SWIFT
- BUBBLEBEAM
Traded for an Ekans by one the Cerulean Gym trainers. Fond of sneaking up on people and either scaring them or creeping them out on some deep level; has adopted the take-all-challengers style of her trainer, and loves a good fight more than anything.

-Redryhno
Name: Darius O'Kere
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Region:Kanto, Pallet Town

Appearance:
Like the picture, but with Brock-like eyes, and much longer hair, he normally wears jeans, tennis shoes, and either pokemon shirts, or tobacco company freebies that he gets with every dozen or so purchases.
Pretty Picture HERE [http://browse.deviantart.com/digitalart/?qh=%E7%A9%AFn=&q=anime+guy+smoking#/d2grbrt]

Personality: Pretty laidback, but likes a laugh or learning more about pokemon, he's anywhere there's a chance of a good time. Cares about pokemon and his own especially. Dislikes people that get too uptight or competetive simply because that's the opposite of himself and it's a bit too much to handle.

Biography: Darius grew up in Pallet, just a short walk from Pewter City and loved pokemon from birth pretty much. He spent all his free time either in Oak's lab, helping however he could (pestering when he couldn't), or with trainers and breeders that were passing through. He received a Sandshrew(Knuckles) on his ninth birthday and the two became fast friends.

A year later, when he was old enough to become a trainer, he took Knuckles and left Pallet to start his own pokemon journey. Within a few weeks and his first badge from Brock, he caught his Psyduck(Daffy), and the two became three and they developed a bond. After earning his third badge, he stopped at a breeding and day-care facility for a few weeks, which turned into a few months, during which he took up smoking(because why the hell not and he was going through a phase) and eventually circled back to Pallet every few months, battling from time to time, but mostly just learning what he could of pokemon and caring for them. Their habits, what food goes with what, he's gotten his own blend for water and ground types down almost perfectly, and to a lesser extent, fire types. He left the Kanto region to learn more about pokemon, where he then found another place to stop for a few months, where he hatched both his Numel and Whismur, he then made his way to Johto after hearing about the tournament, where he hopes to have a bit of fun.

Pokemon(Daffy or Knuckles are almost always walking around with him):
Sandslash(Knuckles)Male:lvl.29
-Sand Attack
-Swift
-Rollout
-Crush Claw
-Dig
-Earthquake(TM)

Knuckles is a character, and likes little pranks, but is surprisingly gentle to children and pokemon smaller than itself.

Psyduck(Daffy)Male:Lvl.28
-Water Sport
-Calm Mind(TM)
-Disable
-Confusion
-Water Pulse
-Fury Swipes

Knuckles's partner-in-crime, Psyduck has much the same mindset as his friend, albeit with the perpetual headache, but since learning Calm Mind, he seems to be in less pain than before. He is a bit more aggressive however, and has been known to lash out from time to time.

Whismur,Female:lvl.16
-Pound
-Uproar
-Extrasensory(Egg)
-Howl
-Astonish
-

Although shy by nature, Whismur is still young, having only hatched about a year ago, she is learning to be more expressive and to not hide behind Darius whenever she sees something or someone. She is given to bouts of strange behavior however, but that's just chalked up to the fact that she knows Extrasensory due to her father being a Shiftry.

Numel,Male:lvl.15
-Tackle
-Growl
-Ember
-Magnitude
-Focus Energy
-

Numel is your standard Numel pokemon, strong, hardworking, a single-minded determination. Though when he gets hungry, he's almost unstoppable and he races for the pokefood, something that he rarely does otherwise.

-Pappytech
Name: Matt Seras

Age: 19

Region: Violet City, Johto

Appearance: Roughly 5' 8", brown hair, green eyes.

Matt carries himself with a relaxed air while traveling or training his Pokemon, though he typically resorts to a more uptight posture when around people. However, whenever he finds himself in extremely populated areas or in nerve-wracking situations, Matt will reflexively hunch over and make himself as small as possible, in an attempt to escape others' notice.

Personality: Timid, fairly shy around new people, doesn't deal with crowds very well. If, however, Matt finds himself around people he likes/feels comfortable around, he will open up, revealing his wordy, carefree, and somewhat inane self.

Enjoys Pokemon immensely (More than he does most people), and has built strong bonds with his somewhat small team. To Matt, it doesn't seem as though he'll ever have any better friends than his personal Pokemon, and he doesn't suffer from his usual social impedance when battling other trainers.

Bio: Though Matt hails from Mahogany Town, Johto, he's spent most of his life in Violet City. Moving from the small township to the larger had a poor effect on the young boy, and he found his already underdeveloped social skills stunted.

Raised by a single mother, Matt was used to handling more responsibility than other kids his age, often taking care of cooking and cleaning while his mother worked. Surprisingly, he never complained about his busy schedule, coming home from school to immediately begin his daily chores; he simply kept quiet and did what was required of him.

Matt did, however, react quite normally when he got his first Pokemon at age 10: A Cyndaquil from Professor Elm. For a while, Matt treated Cyndaquil as though the fire-type was nothing more than an overly intelligent pet, refusing to even entertain the notion of battling for several years.

Life, as it turned out, had different plans for Matt. His mother eventually remarried, and Matt's new stepfather, a proud Pokemon trainer himself, decided that his new ward would follow in his footsteps. As such, the 13 year old boy was, "encouraged," to begin his journey. Luckily, Matt soon found that he enjoyed wandering around the woods and roads around his home, with only Pokemon and the occasional trainer for company. He found a peace in those desolate areas that had eluded him for a long time, a sense of tranquility that he began to seek day after day.

Today, Matt has fully embraced his path in life, dead set on becoming a noteworthy trainer. Though he doesn't train with any particular Gym Leader or group, he's become quite used to wandering in the wilderness, encountering all types of new Pokemon and growing a bit stronger with each new day.

Pokemon:
Spike (Cyndaquil) Lvl 28 Male
- Flame Charge
- Flame Wheel
- Defense Curl
- Quick Attack
- Sunny Day
- Smokescreen
Matt's first, and most loyal Pokemon. Spike originally belonged to Professor Elm, but was given to Matt on the boy's 10th birthday. Raised as a pet for several years, Spike soon developed a docile, relaxed nature; even after six years of training and fighting, he's still quite gentle by Pokemon standards, rarely able to unleash his true potential in even the most trying of battles.
Despite his faults, Spike is still Matt's best friend in the world, and does his best to please his trainer, just as Matt does his best to keep Spike happy.

Ventus (Pidgeotto) Lvl 29 Male
- Gust
- Twister
- Quick Attack
- Double Team
- Whirlwind
- Ariel Ace
A few weeks after beginning to train and explore, Matt finally managed to capture a Pokemon for the first time, a low level Pidgey. Though far from unique, Matt was quite jubilant about his accomplishment. Though Ventus was initially annoyed about being bound to his new trainer, he soon adjusted to his new situation, especially after realizing that he could milk Matt for food and treats.
The first, and thus far only, one of Matt's Pokemon to evolve, Ventus is also his most aloof and self-centered teammate. He typically expects some food or some kind of reward after each battle, a habit Matt is happy to indulge, regardless of the drain it puts on his wallet.
Despite his greed and detached personality, Ventus has bonded with Matt over the years; though not nearly as close to his trainer as Spike, he's still a loyal member of Matt's team.

Persephone (Ghastly) Lvl 28 Female
- Hypnosis
- Night Shade
- Payback
- Confuse Ray
- Dream Eater
- Lick
Persephone is an oddity: A Pokemon that its trainer caught entirely by accident. The whole story is one of Matt's most embarrassing memories, involving an ill-advised trip to Sprout Tower after dark, some creepy Sages, and being unable to tell the difference between a Pokeball and a flashlight.
Regardless of how she was captured, Persephone took a liking to Matt almost immediately (Meaning she discovered just how easy it was to scare him). To this day, Matt is forced to keep an eye on her whenever she's let out of her Pokeball, in an attempt to prevent any shenanigans or tomfoolery. He's rarely successful, but he tries.
To Persephone, it's all in good fun. No matter how many times she scares the living daylights out of her trainer, she's more than willing to fight whenever he calls on her, and obeys Matt without question in battle.

Ditzy (Wooper) Lvl 15 Female
-Water Gun
-Tail Whip
-Mud Sport
-Mud Shot
-Slam
The most recent member of Matt's squad, Ditzy is still getting used to her new teammates. Her rather oblivious nature (She's very aptly named) tends to grate on Ventus' nerves, and, due to the circumstances of her capture, the Wooper harbors a somewhat instinctual fear of Persephone. Still, she's been warmly welcomed by both Matt and Spike, so thing's aren't too bad for the water type.

Despite her unintentionally goofy demenor, Ditzy can be quite clever when she focuses on something. If only she wasn't so easily distracted by shiny objects. Or things that smell nice. Or interesting sounds. Or... Well, you see where this is going. The word "unfriendly" doesn't exist in Ditzy's vocabularly; she almost always carries herself with a cheery, bubbly air.

-CrazyBlaze
Name: Kayla Denit

Age: 22

Gender: Female

City/Region: Cherrygrove City/Johto Region

Bio: A trainer from Cherrygrove City in Johto who never really cared for Gym Battles or the Elite Four. She would rather travel the lands and explore them, then methodically fight everyone to prove she is the best. She still captures the occasionally pokemon but only ones she really likes, preferring to let most pokemon just enjoy their lives. She has captured twenty different pokemon during her travels but has traded or released most of them because she felt they would be happier that way. She has however engaged in tournaments from time to time, if only to help her pokemon grow.
Personality: A carefree girl she loves to explore and find new places. Because of this she often finds rare or expensive objects, which is how she makes her living. Despite her carefree attitude she often prefers not to converse with people too long or spend too much time around others when there are things to be found and that often leads people to see her as anti-social.

Appearance:

Think of the motorcycle as a regular cycle.

-Shakomaru
Name: Tom Relict
Age: 17
Gender: Male
City/Region: Pastoria City/Sinnoh Region
Appearance: Tom is a 5'2'' boy with medium length dark brown hair and oval glasses. his skin is light, but not stark white and has a bit of a tan to it. He usually wears a light blue shirt with a cloud on it, along with brown pants and shoes. He usually wear his backpack, which is also light blue.
Personality: usually very upbeat and happy, but can't stand the sight of trainers hurting their pokemon, and trying to remedy this almost always gets him in trouble. Hates the use of weather-changing moves, loves to evolve pokemon.

Bio:
Born in Johto, in Ecruteak city, Tom was one of those kids who tried to become a Pokemon Trainer as soon as possible, and once he was the right age, he did everything he could to get his favorite Pokemon, Chikorita, as a starter, but living so far away from New Bark Town meant that by the time he got to Professor Elm's lab, he only had a few Totodile and Cyndaquil left. Tom had to settle for Totodile. Soon afterwards however, he was told that his family was moving to the Sinnoh region. As a parting gift, his friends gave him an egg that they had found one day. Tom moved to Pastoria City, where life was uneventful until he was twelve, when his egg finally hatched into a Houndour. With Totodile's help, he quickly trained it close to Totodile's level. Tom made frequent trips to the Great Marsh, mainly just to see different types of Pokemon. However he was not very good at capturing Pokemon without help from his own. One day when Tom was fourteen, he witnessed a man training with his Magmar. It was ordered to use Sunny Day, along with Fire Blast, but the increased power of the attack set the marsh on fire. Tom tried to get Totodile to put out the fire, but it wasn't strong enough to begin with, and the Sunny Day just made its Water Gun even less effective. Luckily, the local Gym Leader showed up on time, and used his Pokemon to completely extinguish the fire. Tom then realized that he had left his backpack lying open on the ground and there was a badly burned Skorupi inside. He took it home and cared for it until it was well enough to be released back into the marsh, however it did not want to leave Tom, and he decided to capture it. This event made Tom hate the effects of weather changing moves, and he vowed never to use them himself. Two years later, while on a school trip to Oreburgh City, he tripped over a strangely shaped rock. Because of how interesting it looked, he took it with him. While inside the Museum, Tom noticed that the rock he had picked up looked exactly like an Armor Fossil, and asked one of the scientists if it could be revived. One year later, in the present, Tom has learned of the Grand Tournament back home in Johto, and has traveled there to try to win, and maybe meet up with some old friends.

-Belmarc
Name: Aeden Shay

Age: 19

Gender: Male

City/Region: Goldenrod City/Johto

Appearance: Aeden stands at about 5? 10? with blond hair and blue eyes. He is best known for wearing his hat. Rain or shine, hot or cold, he?s always got it as his trademark style. Otherwise, he usually wears some kind of vest, a t-shirt, and long shorts, which he keeps around his waist with a tied around belt.

Personality: Aeden can appear to be aloof and kind of a jerk at first. He doesn?t like to get close to people or Pokemon and is afraid of getting hurt. However, underlying this persona he is actually very sensitive and caring, and even a bit too clingy. When he battles, he?s more worried about his Pokemon and teammates than himself, even if he doesn?t know them too well. If he makes a promise, he tries his best to make it happen, and feels terrible if he fails.

Biography: Aeden grew up in Orre, and had a couple of close friends and Pokemon. However, as they got older, a lot of his friends ended up joining Team Snagem, and eventually betrayed him and stole his Pokemon. Not being strong enough to save them himself, Aeden felt powerless for the first time, and lost his ability to trust people and Pokemon readily. Even after Team Snagem was defeated, he felt his Pokemon were better off left in the hands of whoever had saved them, since they were strong enough to hold onto them, and left for the Johto region with his family. There, he avoided making friends. His parents, worried about his emotional health, started sending him to the Pokemon Daycare, where he eventually took on a few eggs of his own. Through them, he is attempting to grow stronger and friendlier.

Pokemon:
Flit / Male Golbat (Starter) LVL 28
-Confuse Ray
-Wing Attack
-Bite
-Air Cutter
-Brave Bird (egg move)
-U-turn (TM)
A trainer who had left two Pokemon to breed left an egg to Aeden while he was working at the Daycare after he realized the boy had none of his own. It hatched into a Zubat, who was persistent enough to get the boy to smile. From then on, they?ve been inseparable. When he evolved Aeden was a bit scared, but with a quick lick from the newly evolved tongue, Flit let him know that they were better than ever.

Sparks / Female Pichu (Starter) LVL 23
-Thundershock
-Thunderwave
-Nasty Plot
-Sweet Kiss
-Volt Tackle (egg move)
-Grass Knot (TM)
Sparks was abandoned by a trainer who only need one Pichu with Volt Tackle. Surprisingly, Aeden volunteered to take care of her. The two of them shared a special bond, since they both knew what it feels like to feel hurt and betrayed. Sparks doesn?t like to be touched by anyone other than Aeden and Flit.

Whisper / Female Eevee (Starter) LVL 22
-Helping Hand
-Bite
-Take Down
-Quick Attack
-Wish (egg move)
-Toxic (TM)
The latest edition to his team, Aeden actually asked to breed two of a trainers Pokemon together. He?d found he enjoyed working at the daycare, and so he thought to try something for himself. Once he had the egg, he took it out on a journey with him to see the world, and then took to training it himself once she hatched out. Aeden thought she was mute at first, and named her Whisper due to her ability to move around without being noticed. She has since started speaking up, but he still sometimes thinks she has run away when she?s suddenly disappeared.

-Anayna
Name: Rupert Gravel

Age: 20

Gender: Male

City/Region: Lavender Town, Kanto.

Appearance: Big black (and rather sad) expressive eyes with an even bigger shock of black hair. The dark colour of both are accentuated by his pale skin. Rupert is usually clad in a dark long-sleeved shirt, with plain jeans. When out and about he uses an extremely unfashionable brown coat that was a hand-me-down from his grandfather. Looks far too big for him with his thin build. Wants nothing more than to blend in with the background, but rarely manages to.

Personality: Awkward, not a big socializer, and a bit of a scaredy-cat, Rupert comes off as somewhat skittish and easily spooked. Gets nervous in crowds and generally prefers to simply steer clear of people. As such he is wholly unsuited to represent his town in the tournament. This being said he is a kind soul who genuinely wishes everyone the best. Regularly teased by his mischievous Haunter which leads his bold Cubone to chide Rupert?s cowardice.

Biography: Born to parents who were both notable trainers in their own time and raised in Lavender Town, Rupert was a bit of an anomaly in that he never had much of an interest in Pokemon. Growing up he found them all just a bit too intimidating, and the nearby Pokemon graveyard never helped. Sometimes he would hear wails and moans emanating from the tower and coupled with the town's history it scared the daylight out of him then, just as it does now. It was only on the night of his tenth birthday that he really took to Pokemon. This was the night where passing by the tower he heard not the usual ghostly wailing, but small cries for help. Rupert was never a brave boy but no one could accuse him of not being good natured underneath his awkwardness. So he pulled himself together and strode through the mist only to find, at the very back of the building, a baby Cubone. Alone, small, crying and wearing an oversized skull on its head this was the moment that Rupert realized that Pokemon could be as frightened as Rupert himself. He took it in and a lifelong partnership was formed.
The duo gave each other courage and in time Rupert even dared venture into Pokemon Tower where he caught a Gastly. Although to be perfectly honest Ghost Pokemon still kind of creep him out. Never the less, with only two Pokemon to his name Rupert proved himself quite the talent with Pokemon once he got over his fear of them. Now he heads to the Goldenrod Tournament, mainly out of peer pressure. His parents are proud.
(Unbeknownst to Rupert, it was in fact his parents that planted his Cubone where he could find it. This was done in an effort have the boy get over his fear of Pokemon. They rightly assumed that seeing a ?mon in such a vulnerable position might help. Rupert himself still harbours a notion that the ghost of Cubone?s mother might be what led him to find his first ?mon, and really doesn?t like this idea.)

Name: Lee Brook
Age: 23
Gender: Male
City/Region: Lilycove City/Hoenn Region

Appearance: Short brown hair, glasses, thin build about 186cm tall. He wears a light brown t-shirt with a geodude on it, with 'Geodude rocks' written underneath (though he has a couple other shirts with equally as bad puns), a pair of tracksuit bottoms and heavy almost boot like shoes.

Personality: Lee is a optimistic realist, he approaches things with a positive attitude but will always state things bluntly and not let his positive attitude blur his perception of what is going on. He will normally help people if asked but is too lazy to offer help. Lee enjoys approaching challenges from different directions though these directions don't always work out and will work hard to achieve things he cares about. When it comes to training his Pokemon he always finds it hard to try and find the right mix of positive reinforcement and criticism.

Biography: Lee grew up in Lilycove, he was always interested in Pokemon but never saw one which he wanted to train but still got a Trainer's License and PokeBalls for when he did. One day at age 16 when going with his grandfather to the grave of his grandfather's Pokemon, the appearance of a Duskull scared away his grandfather, though not having heard any stories about Duskull or any of its evolutions , Lee stayed and after Duskull failed to scare him away Lee decided that this was the Pokemon for one that others just didn't want to know about, after that he left on his quest to become a proper Pokemon Trainer.

Pokemon:

Duskull (lv 31)
Night Shade
Disable
Confuse Ray
Shadow Sneak
Will-o-Wisp (TM)
Ominous Wind (Egg Move)
Duskull is a Pokemon that often prefers to drag out battles as long as he can just so he can mess with his foe and often overestimates his own abilities.

Octillery (lv 30)
Aurora Beam
Psybeam
Bubblebeam
Octazooka
Charge Beam
Bullet Seed
Octillery is a very stubborn Pokemon refusing even to move when it is not necessary, he often ignores the orders given to him by Lee as he was only caught about 3 weeks ago by Lee and was caught by surprise. While he is less powerful than other Octillery in nearly every way he has made up for this with an incredible aiming ability that is normally only dodged by the most agile of Pokemon.

Snover (lv 22)
Razor Leaf
Icy Wind
Mist
GrassWhistle
SolarBeam (TM)
Leech Seed (Egg Move)
Snover is a very gentle Pokemon often trying to befriend the Pokemon it has just been sent out to fight, often having to take an attack before it realises it is in a battle even when told so. This has resulted in Snover losing nearly all battles it has been in. Lee has tried to make Snover use SolarBeam which he taught it through TM but the move has yet to be successful.

Murkrow (lv 13)
Peck
Astonish
Haze
Pursuit
Murkrow always tries to make the best of any situation, and while not much of a planner its a great improviser. Murkrows is quite relaxed and due to its lack of planning doesn't think before it acts, resulting in itself getting into quite a few bad scenarios when trying to collect stuff.

CHAPTER I: BENEATH THE SURFACE
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Welcome to JohtoTV news, where we give you the news that matter!

Our first story today, ArkCorp's shares have been plummeting down in the Saffron City stock exchange for the last 6 months. ArkCorp, known for it's amazing innovations in the field of medical technologies, used in PokéCenters worldwide, has mysteriously stopped production of most of it's products, allowing competitors such as SilphCo to take over.

Shareholders are now abandoning the company en masse and the industry stalwart is facing bankrupcy in the next quarter. We tried reaching ArkCorp CEO, Titania R. Alta for comment, but were told she is in no capacity to comment on the current situation.
More on the story as it develops.

In other news, Trainers from every corner of the country are flocking to Johto's capital of Goldenrod for the 2nd Annual All Regions Tournament. A week long tournament and festival designed to spotlight the very best Trainers of the country. We now go live to Gabby Seong and Ty Anderson in Goldenrod City.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Thank you John, we're here in the very center of Goldenrod, under the world famous Radio Tower where the atmosphere is getting positively electric! Trainers from all over have gathered here, forming a veritable melting pot of cultures and Pokémon.

Excuse me! You there with the red hair and the Sneasel!"

"Huh? Yeah? What can I do you for?"

"...Gabby Seong, JohtoTV news. Are you here for the tournament?"

"Uh, yeah I guess you could say that."

"Ok, well, how do you feel surrounded by all these formidable adversaries raring for a battle?"

"Well... I... uh... I'm just here for a shot at that cash prize, to be honest. Look, I kinda gotta run, I was just in the middle of st... a thing. See ya."

"CUT, Damn it! That was a disaster. I knew we should've just picked some 10 year old mute with fire in his eyes..."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"What the heck was that all about?"

Remy asked Sneasel as it seemed busy looking for something.
Sneeee... Sne?

"I guess..."

Remy made his way to a bench. From his new vantage point he could see it all.
It was a sunny day in Goldenrod City and from the Magnet Train station, denizens of Kanto, with their city-dweller airs and Hoenn with their tanned skin and weird sense of style could be seen arriving into town. From the North, Remy could spot fellow Sinnohans, their mouths gaping at the sheer scope of the city. Nothing like this up North, not even Veilstone. Of course from every corner of the city, Johto natives with their laid-back mannerisms kept pouring in

All the trainers and breeders had one thing in common though. They were strong and in it to win it. There was no doubt, this year's tournament? Was going to be a blast!

"Psy?,"Daffy said as the train slowed to a stop and stared back at Darius,"Psy,psy,psy....duck?

"It's alright Daffy, you've been on these before and you've been here, remember?" The Psyduck scratched the head it held in its arms, and then nodded slowly. Darius put his hand on it's head and turned it around towards the doors that opened out into Goldenrod. They stepped out into, more or less, utter chaos. Darius smiled, it was nice to be off that train.

Darius stretched a moment before reaching into his pocket and producing his pipe(a wooden thing with engravings of a Psyduck on one side and Sandslash on the other he'd had made a few years back) and tobacco and stuffed it before lighting it and clearing the path. When that was done, he raised his arms above his head and yelled out, "HELLOOOO GOLDENROD!" before setting it back in his teeth, stuffing his hands in his vest pockets and beckoning Daffy to follow him before he stole one of the lollypops on display nearby.

"Come on, Daffy, I'll get you one later, you can share it, right?"

"Psyduck." he replied resolutely, taking his hands off his head and walking normally, astounded by the city around him, eyes wide, taking in every detail.

A fist encased by a black glove swung through the air in anticipation. "DOUBLE KICK, JET! FLOOR HIM!"

"Leelee!"

The Hitmonlee tensed up, sensing the oncoming attack. Before him was a Rampardos, in all its frothing rage, charging with a Headbutt wound up just for him. The bipedal challenger narrowed its eyes in anticipation; it had trained for this. Nothing could stop him now, and his trainer knew it.

A young woman bounced up and down from her side of the battlefield, throwing wild punches and kicks into the air, yelling encouragements at her little Jet, and vicious taunts at the Rampardos about to come down with a bad case of broken skull. "Come on, Jet, bash his ugly spike-head into next week!"

The Rampardos snarled and jumped forward at Jet, Headbutt at full power. The Hitmonlee leaned back, one of its coil-like legs bunched up, and at the perfect moment struck out. Its foot collided with the Head Butt Pokemon's skull, and for a brief moment there was silence. The crowd of dozens gathered around the impromptu match watched on with bated breath. Both combatants sat frozen, their attacks locking each other in place.

Then, after the silence became unbearable, Jet pulled his leg back, and struck with the second attack of Double Kick. "DOS!", the other Pokemon cried, its head twisting away from the force of the blow. It spun around in the air and collapsed into the street, eyes closed and drool slipping from the side of its open mouth. The young man that had volunteered to judge raised his left hand in the air, pointing at the woman. "Rampardos is unable to battle! The winner, Hitmonlee and, uh... the girl in orange!"

"WOO!" The girl screamed, grabbing her cap and tossing it into the air as the crowd around her cheered for her. She rushed onto the battlefield, and immediately wrapped her arms around Jet, lifting the Pokemon into the air as its limbs waved in every direction in search of escape. "I knew ya could do it, come here ya big lug!"

"Hitmon!" replied Jet, trying his best to match the excited nature of his trainer; even if Hitmonlee weren't naturally stoic creatures, that would be difficult. She finally set Jet down, patting him on the back and putting him back into his Pokeball. "Get some rest, buddy. I'm gonna need you if we're gonna win that fat prize!"

"You're going need the prize when I'm done with you." came a soft, malice-filled voice from behind. The girl felt a chill go up her neck and spine, and her already spiked ponytail seemed to stand taller as she bolted around to see her opponent. Some rich boy from Oreburgh, with some misplaced pride and some karmically undeserved self defense classes under his belt. "To pay for your hospital bills."

The girl looked at him, eyes big and mouth flat as a board, easy to mistake for fearful until she snorted a second later, barely stifling a full-on fit of guffaws. The rich boy's face blushed red as an apple, and he tried to regain his composure while yelling, "W-what do you think YOU'RE laughing at, commoner?! I'll teach you some respect for your betters!" He swung his fist at her, sneering.

"Huh." the woman replied, casually throwing up a forearm to block his strike. A blustery gust of air escaped the boy's lungs as he tried to contemplate what just happened. The girl explained for him, "Your stance is really wide, your strikes come in from so far out I can just block 'em and do this:"

She demonstrated by sliding her blocking arm forward and smashing the back of her fist into his nose, breaking it on the spot. "GYEE--" the rich boy squealed, clutching his face as he stepped back; but the girl wasn't done, leaning back and throwing a side kick into his stomach, and soaked in the laughter as the crowd watched the humiliated man fall flat on his butt. As he tended his raw face, he looked up to see her leaning down and grinning at him; a grin so wide she hardly had any face left besides it. "W-who are you?" the boy asked.

Her face turned fierce as the girl leaned down further, and said, "The name's Daria Pace. Here's a hint: when anybody tells you about Pewter City's diamond in the rough? The madwoman with the fists of stone and legs of iron?" She pointed her right thumb at her beaming face. "They're talking about me!"

With a casual wave, as if they'd just been having coffee together, she turned away from the whimpering boy and picked up her hat off of the ground, sticking it onto her head after a bit of dusting. Then, she reached inside of her jacket and pulled out a pair of oval shades, which she stuck over her grayish blue eyes. She directed herself in the direction with the most activity. "Now, then." she whispered to herself. "I've got a tournament to win! Oop, wait, I forgot!"

She clicked the side of her belt, and a little Pokeball answered by falling open, releasing a beam of white light that quickly formed into a Charmeleon about half her height. The fire lizard cracked its neck and looked up at her. "Char, Charmele."

"Ha! You worry too much, Spiegel." she said, patting her little companion on the head. They began to walk off in the direction of the Pokemon Center, eager to see what other friends and foes they'd make during their time in Johto. Hopefully better ones than that last guy.

Lee thought that his pokemon might want to see the city, though he soon regretted the decision. He had to stop his snover from hugging every person and pokemon that walked past, by the time he caught up with his snover he had to try and find were he left octillery, who was doing... nothing. Now he had lost track of his duskull who wandered off to mess with people. 'DUSKULL, DUSKULL! oh god where has he gone now'

Ike had set his tent outside of the radio tower. Kirlia sat in his lap, asleep on his breast.

Perhaps I should walk around. Might find information. That would be interesting, very interesting.

He wakes up Kirlia, who yawns with a tiny "Kir?"[color] before standing up.

*Now Arriving In Goldenrod City* Spoke the automatic announcer of the Magnet Train. He had chosen this method of transportation, due to its speed and overall comfort. As the train, slowly came to a halt, his travelling partner Raphael, a male Combusken started to stir from its slumber.

"Com... Com... Combusken." Raphael chirped, its eyes slowly opening.

"Come on Raphael, wake up, we have arrived at our destination, Goldenrod City." Caleb calmly said to his sleepy eyed companion, as he got up out of his seat, and claimed his belongings from the storage compartment above. Raphael hopped out of his chair, immediately stretching his arms and legs. After returning the sword to its sheathe, Caleb stepped off the train, and onto the sunny streets of the city.

As they began to explore the city, they could see a whole host of various people and Pokemon from all over the world, a majority looking like they were preparing for the tournament. Whilst they enjoyed the walk, it was briefly interupted by a Duskull careening past, obviously looking to cause trouble. Raphael began charging up an Ember attack.

"I do not think that is a wise idea Raphael. We do not want to cause an incident the moment we arrive now do we?" Caleb asked in an authoritative tone, which seemed to calm down what anger the Young Fowl was building.

"How about we find some place to stay during the duration of the tournament?"

"Combusken." Was the reply from Raphael, nodding its head in agreement. They soon began again, heading towards the various hotels and inns that existed in the city.

A wave of noise rose from the throng that filled Goldenrod's streets, a wall of discordant sounds and voices that could be heard from miles around. The screeches and calls of Pokemon, the excited chatter of their trainers, the shouts of merchants advertising their wares, the thunder of various vehicles as they trundled through the crowds. Charged with excitement and energy, the city's voice rose and fell, drowning out anything that didn't contribute to its cacophonous din. To some, it was a herald of good times and fun, a beacon signalling fortunes to be won and lost, people to be met, and suckers to be scammed.

To the boy standing just outside the city limit, it might as well have been the shrieks and moans of the damned.

"Okay, okay, you can do this Matt."

The small sea of people and Pokemon rushing into the city flowed around a sole obstruction, the young lad shuffling back and forth, struggling to make his feet move forward. It would take someone with exceptionally good hearing, and the ability to care, to pick up his quiet words as he attempted to gear himself up.

Taking a deep breath, the kid straightened his jacket, readjusted his emerald colored hat for the umpteenth time, raised his foot... and promptly set it back down, turning around and gazing wildly about for some avenue of escape. "No I can't, no I can't, no I-OW!!!"

A blur and feathers and a flashing beak brought Matt to a halt, as his head was suddenly assaulted by a large, rather irate, bird. "Pidgerrrrro!"

"Ow-stop it-ow-Ventus!" Matt's pleas were ignored by the Pidgeotto that had alighted onto his shoulder, and was currently hammering his hat into his head. "That-ouch-hurts!"

Had he currently not had his head tucked down, in an attempt to dodge the rain of blows, Matt would no doubt have been appalled at the number of stares and snickers his plight was attracting from the surrounding crowd; it wasn't very often that you saw a trainer being herded about by his own Pokemon. "Alright, alright, fine! I'm going!"

Head still ducked down, the teen charged forward, his tormentor riding along on his shoulder with practiced ease. Ignoring the shouts and angry cries his abrupt movement elicited from those he bumped into or bowled over, Matt finally came to a stop well within the streets of Goldenrod, not by own personal choice nor at the guidance of his Pokemon, but by the solid brick wall he had just rammed his head into.

Matt's ears burned red as a few nearby civilians burst out laughing. Still, at least he was actually inside the city now. And ignoring the laughter and the dull ache that pulsed through his head, the collision did have a positive result as well: Of the trio of Pokeballs strapped to Matt's waist, one of the spheres was jostled from its position, bouncing off the ground, ballooning to its full size and releasing its denizen in a flash of red light. "Cyndaquil?"

The gentle, warm nudging finally encouraged Matt to stand back up, smiling down at the Cyndaquil rubbing its head against his leg. Crouching down, the trainer hefted the small Pokemon upwards, slinging the fire-type over his currently unoccupied shoulder. "Alright, thanks Spike." Turning his head, Matt eyed his other passenger, meeting its seemingly disinterested gaze with a smile. "You too Ventus."

Taking a deep breath and exhaling, Matt slowly turned around, eyeing the scene before him with trepidation. It was as he had feared: The street before him was PACKED with people and Pokemon, a crowd that would take minutes, if not hours to work through. Luckily, before his fear petrified him, the trainer took note that the edges of the thoroughfare, such as where he was currently standing, provided some empty space, and a clear, if presumably circuitous and overly long path to his destination. Still, it was better than nothing.

"Okay guys, you ready?"

His companions offering a purr and a squawk of approval, Matt began to work his way forward, flinching away from the mass of bodies as much as he could, but making steady progress nonetheless. It hopefully wouldn't be too long before he made his way to the tournament grounds.

"Wha--?!" Daria's face fell open in disappointment as the worried nurse looked on. "Whaddaya mean we can't sleep here?!"

Spiegel shook his head and turned away from his trainer, ashamed, as Nurse Joy timidly tried to explain, while handing back Jet's Pokeball to his trainer. "Well, with the tournament coming up there's going to be an extra-high strain on the Pokemon Centers around Goldenrod to keep everyone in fighting shape; normally it'd be fine, but we just don't have any room to spare when a potential patient could rush in at any time of day!"

Nurse Joy saw Daria's face fall even further, and the girl slumped down so that her chin was resting on the desk. A combination of confusion and pity urged the Nurse to say something else. "Of course, there are plenty of hotels to stay at around the city. I'd be glad to point you at the nearest one!"

"Really?" Daria asked, a smile back on her face as she glanced up. Spiegel threw a claw into the air; finally, a human with some sense.

Nurse Joy directed the girl in the orange jacket to take a right the moment she walked out the door, and that the third skyscraper down that street, to her right, was a very favorably-reviewed hotel; her family usually stayed there when they came to visit.

"AWESOME!" Daria shouted, reached her lithe frame across the counter to give the baffled nurse a hug. "Thanks so much, gotta run before it gets booked! MOVE, SPIEGEL, MOVE!"

"Char? Charcharchar--MEEEEELE!" Despite his protests, Spiegel was grabbed by the right claw and nearly swept off his feet as Daria sprinted out of the building. Various people jumped to the side, and the Charmeleon had to work its stubby legs to death to keep up with its trainer as she barreled out into the street, before turning right and moving down into the vast crowd of tourists and tourney entrants.

But the one that caught her eye seemed to be heading in the same direction as her. "Hold up." she said curiously, stopping in mid-strike and giving the agitated and very much winded Spiegel a reprieve. Walking on the other side of the street was a man in strange garb, flanked by a Combusken. What REALLY surprised her was the sword on his side. "A human, with a weapon? That's weird." she turned to Spiegel, who shrugged and tugged at her hand to get moving towards the hotel. He knew exactly what she was planning, and he would have none of it.

There's no arguing with Daria, though. The capped girl wrenched Spiegel from his spot, and dashed off towards Caleb, stopping at his side and moving to keep pace at his side. "Hey, buddy, where'd ya get the sword? You train somewhere?" she asked, bending down to hip level to get a closer look at the little curio.

This man... he has a sword? Why would he need that? Unless.... Ike Sherman shook off that thought. Nobody could be that cruel. Still, better make sure that Charmeleon was safe. He had to continue his spying.

For newcomers,

When speaking out of character use this sort of spoiler tag. But please, KEEP IT IN THE CHAT AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE.

I'm just here to mention in a way you can't miss, a really good way to show you're interacting in direct response to someone else's post, to save maximum space, is to

Put the last last line in bold at the top of yours.

Say, for instance, I'm responding to saintdane.

Still, better make sure that Charmeleon was safe. He had to continue his spying.

Just add that to the top of my post to highlight who I'm interacting with. Only takes up one line, too!

Caleb suddenly stopped as he was asked a several questions, mostly about where he had obtained the sword. He soon turned round, and saw a woman who was both slightly younger and shorter than he was. Her hair was brown, and worn in a single pony tail which had a spiked point. Accompanying her was a Charmeleon, who Raphael was already sizing up.

"Hey, buddy, where'd ya get the sword? You train somewhere?" She asked, getting a closer look at his family sword.

"Indeed I do miss. The sword comes from my home in Lilycove City in the Hoenn Region, it is a family heirloom of mine, rather precious in fact. Lilycove City is also where I trained. My apologies miss, my name is Caleb Grey, a pleasure to meet you. Rest assured though, I do not intend to hurt anyone with it." Caleb replied with, speaking in a calm and friendly manner, before bowing afterwards.

That was a slight relief, if anything. Still, knowing humans, he was probably a liar. Ike had to make sure.

This is gonna take awhile, isn't it...

"My apologies miss, my name is Caleb Grey, a pleasure to meet you."

Daria tried to extend a hand to the man, apparently named Caleb, only to be cut off and caught rather off guard when he instead hunched over in front of her. She thought for a moment, wondering what he was doing; was he sick? Wait, no, wait, he's bowing! ****! What do you do when somebody bows?

Daria's face contorted strangely, going rigid as she tried to approximate a proper bow in return. It was rather clunky, and she lifted her left leg into the air a bit, for some reason. A C+ at best. "Uh, nice to meet ya too!" she said, lacking the vernacular for formal talk. She straightened back up and twisted her back a bit; had she just pulled a muscle doing that?

"She scratched what bit of her scalp was able to be reached underneath her tight cap, and asked, "So, ya in town for the tournament I guess?"
