Their size is the problem. My guess would be a solution which disables (i.e. kills) them rather than destroys them. A disabling mechanic (like a virus or EMP) seems to me more plausible than trying to make a weapon or army big enough to destroy them physically.Bobbity said:I'm honestly convinced that Bioware is going to pull a fast one on us, and have us defeat the Reapers with the Dark Energy that everyone spent so much of ME2 harping on about.
I simply can't see another way we're going to beat the Reapers - not a fleet that big. If Bioware's not going to kill them off with dark energy, then it's going to have a hell of a time finding another plausible reason for us to be able to kill the bastards.
Problem is, they're supposedly organic machines, so there goes any hope of a computer virus, and firing an EMP just seems like a weak cop out on Bioware's part. Still, it's interesting to speculate, and I've come across a bunch of ideas that I would never have thought of myselfmikespoff said:Their size is the problem. Well, being organic machines, there are other viruses that could be introduced...Bobbity said:Problem is, they're supposedly organic machines, so there goes any hope of a computer virus, and firing an EMP just seems like a weak cop out on Bioware's part. Haha, could you imagine that? War of the Worlds, but rather than frail little green men, we have these massive squid monsters dying of common coldsmikespoff said:Well, being organic machines, there are other viruses that could be introduced...Bobbity said:Problem is, they're supposedly organic machines, so there goes any hope of a computer virus, and firing an EMP just seems like a weak cop out on Bioware's part. Remember how in both Mass Effect's, the turian Council member was snobby and told Shepard to go away with his crazy theories about "The immortal race of sentient starships allegedly waiting in dark space."Paksenarrion said:Dammit. I'm missing something, and it's probably related to this specific romance scene. What did he say, and what did she say?AccursedTheory said:Paksenarrion said:With air quotes.
