In the event of a deadly viral (zombie-ish) outbreak like in 28 Days later, what would you do?

DEFEND ME NOW! thats what I'd say. If they refused, I'd just slap their forehead and say YOU SHOULD HAVE HAD A V8! If they try to attack me, I'd pull out the 9 mil and shotgun, maybe a caliber (?), and shoot them in the head. Muahahahaha! but seriously, not gonna happen... No such thing will... No one would survive, they'd just die right away from shock. done and done. If it does happen (and its a 1/infinity chance), Just pray to the man upstairs, and he'll take care of you. Ahmen.

Eat a bullet. It's an astonishingly effective way of dealing with Zombies. They're not gonna eat my corpse, and in any worst case scenerio, my body reraises as a new member of the zombie horde.

Try to survive as long as I can by any and all means necessary.
Then, like anyone else, finally die in the horrible world that so many want to experience.
I prefer a bunny invasion.

heres another answer: run into the crowd wearing a hula girl outfit, and sing 'I'm a Barbie Girl' but instead replace the barbie with zombie, and if you are a boy say that you are a zombie boy. maybe they will join you in unison. Random Alert!

I'm heading to whoever has the most guns/food/supplies/shelter, since i'm practically useless during any type of disaster.

Put up the storm shutters and wait it out with a pickaxe on hand.
Pick Axe? Not the best weapon.

Remember that the infected's very blood was contagious and could turn you in less than a minute. I wouldn't be using something that was bound to get blood on you.

OT: I'd wait it out at my house. The person who lived here before me may have in fact been a serial killer and had bars on all of the windows (as well as all the doors locked from the outside, and people rarely saw his wife). Also, I recently learned where one of my neighbors keeps all of his guns.

I don't trust the military to take care of this zombie threat, If the virus wasn't airborn/ I was immune to the virus, I would run to the nearest habitable island and bunker down.

The real life me would leg it to wherever is safe and wait it out.

The awesome fictional me that I wish I was would go outside and slaughter every zombie seen. No fear, no sense of danger, no guilt that we might be able to cure them. Just two short swords, a flamethrower for a mouth, and seventeen years worth of built up rage.

F!ck the military, I work alone!

My husband is retired military, his brother is active duty. I would do what they told me.

28 Days Later type of zombies? Nah I'm fucked no matter what. Regular slow zombies? Grab my bat, clear my house, then pack up a car and leave to Fort Vancouver which is ten minutes away. My thinking is that fake or not, if it was strong enough for a battle, it can survive zombies.

Plus there's no other defensible place.

Go to my work place (a pub/ restaurant) and hole up there. There is lots of food there, plus more just across the street. There is also a power station just behind those shops, so we would be able to hijack a mini generator or something. Plus we have massive metal bins on wheels so getting around shouldn't be a problem. We would have plenty of knives for weapons, as well as chair legs and shelf poles and that sort of thing. The only issue would be boarding up the windows, but with 100 or more tables with at least 4 times a many chairs I don't see too much problem there. And as a contingency plan, the roof is relatively defendable. And as a final contingency, the next roof along could be reached with a a make-shift bridge and then broken down for that final 'last stand'.

Yeah, I've had lots of time to think about this.

Grab my remmington 870, I have at least 500 rounds (southern United States FTW) laying around, of various shot sizes, some slugs, and enact anti zombie policy #1
Pretty much this, but with an M4A1.

Take car. Go to Mum's. Kill Phil, grab Liz, go to the Winchester, have a nice cold pint, and wait for all of this to blow over. How's that for a slice of fried gold?

So your limbs being torn off and the undead simply ripping the plates off bit by bit doesn´t worry you in the slightest?
Also, in the likely event you have to de-ass the area, I´d like to see you run around for a mile in plate armor...point being "chilling in plate armor while zombies try to eat you" is a very bad idea.

On Topic tho, I´d load up on food and supplies, call all my buddies, organize an evacuation then form an armed force and wipe out the infection ourselfs...
We are prepared.
You don't know how plate armor is constructed do you? Plate armor is difficult to remove for a squire who knows what he is doing. It has to come off in a particular order and is held together by strong leather straps and mail (real chainmail is actually very resistant to piercing attacks since the links are riveted shut, the mail you see being tested on shows like Deadliest Warrior is butted in which the rings seperate easily). Being as the "infected" are not superhumans, just crazed people, they won't have near the strength required to remove the armor.

As for the running point, here are some facts. Modern soldiers carry upwards of 100 lbs of gear on their backs. Full medieval plate weighs 60 lbs, the weight is distributed through your entire body, and it is made to fit the individual wearing it so it encumbers him as little as possible. As with leg and arm weights that runners use, the extra weight on the limbs may be a pain at first but with some time you stop feeling it.

I hope you learned something from this. There are many many myths about armor (generally negative about western armor and positive about eastern equipment), none of which are anything but nonsense. Guys had to be able to fight for long periods of time in their armor.

People seem to usually have a grand idea of going to costco/walmart/local supermarket for safety and provisions. I wonder how many people this plan would work for before most of them were boned.
