Customizable wolves! I wouldn't want to be the same boring wolf as everyone else. I'd like to pick my color and eye color and different howl and all that.

Scars from battle would stay. You could lose limbs/tail, eyes, ears, and keep the scars from your fights. Imagine being a one eyed wolf with no tail and scars on its face and body. I'd prove to those other wolves that I'm a beast!

I had an idea for a video game which could easily be adapted to any console or the PC. In the game you play as a wolf and try to survive in the wild. You start out as a young cub, and as you age and grow stronger you can hunt for prey. With current gen viscreal graphics, such a game could be mind-blowing. Imagine hunting down a deer in the forest, or prehaps if the game includes an arctic setting, hunting down a polar bear with your pack. You could also challenge the leader of the pack, or find a mate and make your own pack.

If anyone has any ideas, or comments about how to make this game better in some way, put them here.
That is actually a pretty good idea, hell I'd play it. You could have the whole Call Of Duty element to it where you're the one following orders from the captain (or Alpha Male in this case)in the beggining and eventually you could become the alpha male. Or maybe you could become a lone wolf? Like your pack is wiped out by hunters and you decide to hunt down the hunters who killed them, PETA would love that!

LoL, yeah PETA probably would get their jollies from that. So far I am liking a lot of the plot devices mentioned. All are pretty good. If I can structure a plot correctly I may be able to achieve many of the ones mentioned in this post and others. Stay posted, I am still brainstorming.

Yes, I absolutely believe you should be able to customize your wolf, although I hope I don't have to see too many poeple using pink, purple, orange, or blue as thier base color. I would have to get sick all over my keyboard if that happened.

I think it could be an awesome game if not made too realistic. Add in some sort of customisable appearance and the ability to kill poachers and you've got yourself a good game :p

I'd certainly buy it.
this. um, what can i say besides "this" so i don't get a low content post warning?
killing poachers sounds fun. ;)

Peta would fuck that shit up before it was even announced!
Ooh, they should be in there as well! Haven't you ever wanted to see those peta-tards getting torn to shreds by ravenous creatures? Now you could actually do it yourself!
Holy shit that would be amazing!

OT: I think if you did it a little more along the lines of Spore's creature stage, what with evolution (not the shitty gameplay) you could have a good game. But if you're stuck as a wolf, your only attack is bite. Not very intriguing.

I love the idea, and I have suggestion, might be totally crap:
The main wolf that you play has escaped from a lab,and it finds itself suddenly stronger and smarter.I was thinking it could make a stat based system like on Crackdown,in which if the wolf does something enough, the experiments kick in and initiate forced evolution, making the wolf bigger, stronger, smarter and just plain meaner.

Hmm, some levity on the topic of evolution, Evolution is something that happens gradually over a period of time. It is generally very slow, and occurs at the genetic level. It is, in essence, life adapting to increasingly adverse situations. Lets take for example the adverse situation of the wolf;

Wolf and Man
In the very early periods of human existence, there was probably little real conflict between wolve and people. The Plains Indians of North America shared their hunting territories with wolves and respected the skill and strength of these fellow predators. Inuit share their homeland with wolves and hunt the same prey. Conflict arises when humans begin to produce their own food instead of hunting wild animals and gathering wild plants. Wolves have no choice but to continue their predatory way of life, but now they might not find their prey since humans have domesticated the wild animals, sheep, and cattle for their own use. Therefore, humans believe the wolves are dangerous predators. The human change from hunting and gathering to farming and herding began about 12,000 years ago and there has been a human/wolf conflict since. With hunting or trapping in pits and other devices, wolves were completely wiped out in England by the early 1500's. Scotland got rid of its last wolf in the mid-1700's. Other European countries eventually wiped out the wolf as well. An estimated 1 to 2 million wolves died in the western part of the United States in the last half of the 19th century.

Now a adverse conflict being assessed, mother nature does what it does and a new species of wolf is born. It just happens a little bit faster in this game (for storyline effect).

I understand the dilemma of wolf combat, yes they do seem like a one trick pony, but I think I can find ways to make combat more intuitive than that.
