Evey day jobs, really? I doubt these would have been fun mini-games more likely the slog and grind that is WoW's professions system which could be relaxing after a high level area but weren't that grea-

They gave Titan the axe? But I rolled need!

Buuuuut, yeah. This sounds like one of those intriguing-on-paper concepts that's really easy to mess up on execution- and I suppose Blizzard realized that they were doing just that. At least they didn't just throw it out there to try to squeeze some money out of it.

It seems like a pretty interesting idea, but The MMO direction was a terrible one. Perhaps if it was more akin to Borderlands or PayDay, it would have fared better.

It's also good that this info is leaking out. That way, someone other than the one-trick-pony, Blizzard, could build something similar.

Huh, sounds interesting. I tend to like the combat the least in MMO's so I would've probably given this a shot.

Why a game in which all you do is accomplish mundane tasks? Who would play such a thing!

Oh god... flashbacks of when I was a teenager are coming fast and hard.

I think this sounds like it could have been very interesting, but it would have depended on how they approached it.

I'm thinking of something Eve-like, with interconnected networks of resources and stuff.
But I wonder if it would have been like that.

No wonder they didn't go with it.

I feel like it should have been the other way around. With the mundane job being optional. Sort of like crafting is in other MMOs. Say, you use the mundane job to get some extra money or some other benefits to the rest of the game. Like working at a car dealership nets you free vehicles.

Can't say I'm heartbroken to hear this, though. It sounds like the mundane task would be insanely boring. I just can't see a game making working in a cubicle fun.

No it doesn't. It sounds like a mainstream piece of shit that should never have seen the light of day.
The cancellation was nowhere near as dissapointing as the "details" on this project.

I'm bitter and butthurt and I'm not blind to the vast challenges that developers face in making a game or the fact that this is not a good picture of the game overall, but this really does sound like a project that should never even have been started.
Other than the cookie-cutter classes, I honestly don't see how this game mimics the mainstream games(I could be missing something).
It kind of sounds like they were making a very niche game considering the seemingly boring job features. Almost sounds like an mmo parody.
And a parody was most definitely not their intent and it probably would have gone horribly, but I still would have liked to try it.

It certainly sounds like a very interesting concept, and it's a real shame that we never got to see anything materialize out of this. Hopefully, Blizzard takes some of these concepts and applies them to its other titles.
Ok lets try to do that:

World of warcraft set in western Europe and Hearthstone is set in Australia.
New job in wow: Insurance salesman.
New Sc 2 unit: the office worker. It gives you data on your mineral storages and intake.
Also a giant alien Spaceship crashes into Azeroth. Na this is getting stupid.

That actually sounds like it might have been pretty interesting depending on how it was done. I'd have liked to have seen it.

Something tells me they axed it for Destiny, after all Activision wouldn't want to have 2 products competing for the same customers.
How would a PC exclusive and a console exclusive be competing?
