Heya! I've been on a bit of a gaming shopping spree lately, and I'm not quite sure which of the games I have I should try to finish first. So, I figure I'm going to ask you fine folks!
Given this list, where would you start? They are all games I have bought but have yet to get around to:

God of War 1/2 (the HD hundle thing)
Silent Hill 2
Monkey Island 1/2(HD remakes)
Overlord 1/2
Deus Ex
Resistance 2
Penumbra (all of them)

On a related note (because people love bile!) are there any of them you wouldn't play at all?

I'd probably play them all. But a note on overlord, as much fun as I had with the first one I never finished it. It's interesting to fight with your horde of minions but also gets pretty repetitive. So load it up, have some fun, and i wish you luck on completion. Resistance is kinda bleh in my eyes but maybe that's because I hate that they named the main character Nathan Hale. What's next, a sci-fi strategy game where your best general just happens to be named "Rob E. Lee"? I'd recommend you tackle on of the classics first like silent hill2 or deus ex.

Overlord 1/2 (it amused me to no end though it has little replay value)
Silent Hill
Deus Ex
Monkey Island
Penumbra
God of War
Resistance

That would be my order.

I'd probably start with Penumbra since I haven't played it and it looks interesting
Then Silent Hill, Monkey Island games (shouldn't take too long) God of War 1 and finish with Deus marrafakking Ex.

But I'd skip God of War 2 and the Overlord games on account of them being boring and tedious

Resistance 2 when ever I'd get around it.

I don't really see why it matters what order you play them in.

PS. Those are some damn fine games. Good taste.

It only matters in terms of time management. The thread was also meant as a way to gauge the relative popularity of the titles.

PS. Thank you! :)

Silent Hill 2
Overlord 1/2
Dues Ex
Penumbra
God of War 1/2
Monkey Island 1/2
Resistance 2

Silent Hill 2 is the best of an entire genre, you really can't leave it hanging. 100% worth it. It also highlights how amazing graphics aren't needed to make an amazing game.
I really liked the Overlord series, and would play them next as a stress-relief.
Dues Ex was awesome. Simply amazing.
Penumbra games scare the **** out of me, so I end up going in 5 minute intervals. Worth it though, for the stories afterwards.
God of War games are there to be yet another stress reliever. They are good, and would be higher on the list if the list weren't filled with great games.
I have never played the other two selections, but never liked point and click adventures and Resistance looked rather poor.

I would say start with the Oldest and work your way forward. If you don't like a game it's more likely that old/ugly/glitchy graphics will annoy you. Deus Ex though would definitely be my first one. Never finished though, I was right there at the end and my save was corrupted while all the other saves disappeared.
