Thanks in advance for any advice

Ive tried the samsung site and everytime i try to send a report it just hangs indefinatly and regestering my computer consistently fails

I would try to clean out your fan if you haven't already. My two year old laptop used to over heat a lot over the summer. I eventually took it apart and sprayed the shit out of the inside... there was an insane amount of dust and dirt inside choking up the fan.

It doesn't overheat anymore, but the goddamn speakers are slowly dying still :(

It's possible that your fans are running at maximum anyway?

Aside from that, clean all the dust from them and inside the case using compressed air or a dry artist's brush. Do you use your laptop on a hard, flat surface? A lot of surfaces cause airflow to be restricted, ie; clothing, blankets, cushions, etc. Have you overclocked your laptop and when did the problem develop, over time or from day one?

It's important to find the cause of overheating as all increasing fan speed does is treat a symptom which will probably worsen over time.

No dust, hard surface and it happens while playing games, i dont think the fan is up high because there is no noise coming from it.

Could be flat-out fan failure, does it spin at all?

If there's no dust I'm assuming it's new, and if that's the case I'd give the manufacturers a call and put that warranty to good use.

As said, seems to me it's either a new laptop with dead fans or an old laptop with dust clogs.

Fan seems to be working as i can feel a draft i think its just set to low and i dont want to call samsung if its just something basic as otherwise it works well and ive had a years work on it

The fan could still be clogged with dust, so it spins but not as efficiently.

All the filters i can see look clean but i suppose it could be the inside thats clogged doesnt seem more likley than it just being set to quiet mode since ive heard most laptops are set that way by the manufacturer

I'm pretty sure even the most budget boards these days have adaptive fan speed controls. I haven't seen a computer with hard-set fan speeds in... wow... maybe 7 years? If it's not older than that and you paid more than $75 for it, I honestly doubt that's the case. The filters on the outside aren't perfect, and cleaning them doesn't do much good if you don't do it on the inside, as well.

The only way there ISN'T dust inside it is if it's brand spanky new, and if it is, it is probably a hardware failure.

The ones inside are fully enclosed and very difficult to get to and i dont have the tools on me at the moment i maybe able to ajust the fans i simply do not know how, i was simply stating that the fans where set to be quiet unless you where stating they should be adjusting automatically, which it doesnt seem to be as they are still very quiet they maybe increasing but i doubt it is to maximum most likley to the maximum allowed value

In my experience, removing the battery can lower the temp a few degrees and also unscrewing a panel blocking air flow can help too.

The two programs I use to control fans are MSI Afterburner for the graphics card (supports many brands and models) and Gigabyte Easytune for CPU fan speed (works for gigabyte motherboard).

I try to keep my GPU and CPU under 60 degrees C, so I have the fans setup to 100% speed for anything over 55 degrees C. I've seen default fan settings that don't ramp up to 100% fan speed until 75 degrees C (my computer is set to shut off if it reaches that temperature).

When these low and mid-range laptops have their CPU/GPU/Mobo die within 1-2 years, one of the major causes is accumulated heat damage that could have been prevented by turning up the fans.

Two more good programs from http://www.cpuid.com/: CPU-Z to find out what chipsets you have (to get the right fan program), and HWmonitor to keep track of all the temperatures in your system.

Whenever I'm testing a graphically intensive game on a system for the first time, I'll run HWmonitor in the background to keep track of the temps. If they go over 60 degrees C then I'll turn down some of the settings in the game (post-processing settings generate a lot of heat).

Is it really that surprising that a laptop overheats when under load for extended periods? They don't exactly have super-efficient fans.

Blow it out like others are suggesting, and make note of where intakes and exhausts are. Look at cooling pads and compare their design against your laptop--you don't want one that'll actually end up making your laptop hotter. My HP has a shitty design and setting it on a cooling pad actually makes it hotter. In its case, putting a USB-powered fan on the right side of it, so it blows both under and over it, cools it much better.

Well intakes are back ,top, left intake to back, Left, Left exhaust.

The cupid thing ive already got the HWmonitor and i downloaded the CPU-Z but i dont see how it helps with identifying a Fan Program?

you might need someone to rewrite your fan program script if you can't fix it any other way

or you could google methods to rewrite it yourself

I had this very same problem, I bought a notepad U3 cooler from Cooler Master, and it no longer overheated, I think cooler master fans are the only ones with movable fans. I put mine at every vent on the bottom of my laptop, and my problem was solved.

Then I remembered that my laptop was under warranty and they replaced my CPU and fans for free. D'oh.

Did you see my post above that, I mentioned MSI Afterburner for any GPU and Easy Tune for Gigabyte mobo. The point of CPU-Z is to find make and model of your mobo and get the appropriate software for your chipset. Usually the fan tool is from the OEM manufacturer instead of the chipmaker (e.g. gigabyte instead of intel).

Well it says Manufacturer is Samsung and chip set is sandy bridge?

Edit: downlaoded MSI it doesnt seem to be able to detect the fans either
