Didnt really watch the first one as I couldnt get into it.
All I thought was, he could have been filming batman 3 instead of this.

Fuck, I was excited and everything, reported.

Edit: Now that title is no longer misleading, I would be cautiously optimistic but curious about where they would go next since it would have a high chance of mucking it all up, dealing with the ambiguous ending of the last would be a challenge too.

I don't think I should get warned for this thread, for this reason: I'm interested in who would be excited about a new Inception film, and who would think 'fuck no...'
I for one hate the idea, it would be the biggest sell-out of the 2000s.

That Hollywood finally stopped embarrassing itself with shitty rehashing of things 90's kids liked long enough to make a legitimate unnecessary, shitty sequel to a really good Christopher Nolan movie that inevitably would not be directed or receive any input from Christopher Nolan.

Thank God that wasn't the case. When's Battleship coming out in the U.S.?

You've scared me into following your advice, God-damn it!

As much as I liked Inception, I would not approve a sequel. The story ended, he got back to his kids... Maybe.

I don't know, but if they don't, at some point in the film, say "You sunk my Battleship!", I'm going to be disappointed

OT: Would not like to see it. I think it worked well as a solid concept, but there's no need for another one.

I'd say...70% chance it's a total load of crap. I don't see a sequel doing anything but coasting on the success of it's superior predecessor. Not much it could add to the series. It would be a useless re-hashing of the first's concepts and events.

The cynical side of my brain would wage a great and terrible war against the optimistic side.

"Why the fuck do we need that? Then again, I guess there's no concrete reason it couldn't be good..."

Irked. I'd shake my fist and exclaim "MR. NOLAN! No sequels! And stop making screen adaptations! Your goddamn original works are FAR superior! DO WHAT I SAY!!!".

Though I wouldn't expect it to make much of a difference. I would spend the days leading up to it's reveal hoping that it would be a worthy sequel.

I'd actually support it if Nolan was involved, on the grounds that Nolan would only do a sequel if it was something that he had already planned when writing the original. The only criticism would be that this would end up with the 2 movies being so complicated that it would require extended study to even begin to appreciate them.

If Nolan was heavily involved, I'd go with it. I think there's some potential to explore this world with that kind of technology just wandering about. I'm sure there's plenty of interesting like Eames running around and pulling off some crazy extractions. If both of those are what would be planned, then I'd look forward to a sequel. Otherwise, no dice.

I'm sure it could be good, I mean, it probably wouldn't have anything to do with the first one's characters. Though, that wouldn't be bad, exploring the world of 'Inception' with another type of character would be interesting.

I was about to come into this thread to rage, but then I read the whole title....

Does that answer your question?

Ok, long version: inception does NOT need a sequel. It ended on a good enough note. If Christopher nolan was involved, I might be cautiously optimistic, because that might mean he had more planned from the get go. But if anyone else was doing it.... No.
