Only if it was mass produced the exact same way, like an iPod or a quarter.L1250 said:If I told you what my totem was, wouldn't it defeat the entire purpose of having one in the first place?
Dang, that's actually pretty clever...Ham_authority95 said:An Hourglass.

Apparently, everyone had one, just three characters showed theirs.aprilfools93 said:BTW... was there any other characters that had totems? (I only know of three, as they were shown in the movie)
That might take too long to be really useful.Ham_authority95 said:An Hourglass.

Not quite. You just can't let someone know the unique aspect of it. That can be something you would only find out with physical contact, like the die, but it can also be something visual. The girl had carved some kind of symbol on her totem which she was very careful not to show, it you notice.dalek sec said:That only happens if you let someone touch it. In the movie the girl show's someone the totem she made and they didn't say that to her.L1250 said:If I told you what my totem was, wouldn't it defeat the entire purpose of having one in the first place?

I already have one. It's a brass .308 shell casing. When I put it on an open table and press my thumb down on the tapered end, it will spin across the table and describe a certain pattern every time, as long as I use the same pressure and put my thumb in the same spot.
It would be a small one so it will run out quickly in reality.Breaker deGodot said:That might take too long to be really useful.Ham_authority95 said:An Hourglass.

No, you're just not allowed to let others touch it once you've started using it as the totem.L1250 said:If I told you what my totem was, wouldn't it defeat the entire purpose of having one in the first place?
I think you guys got what the totem in the movie was. The idea was that dreams don't follow the laws of physics so you can test whether physics are there or not.aprilfools93 said:I found my totem... nothin fancy, just a lil' pouch which has a graphic of a scrapbooked bird that used to have a gift card in it haha... it has a distinctive design, stitch, tag, graphics and feel to it. So, it should work well
