X-Men Origins: Wolverine - Plain bone claws are apparently as powerful as Adamantium, sometimes even more so depending on what stage of the game you're in.

Playing a high level character in Oblivion:

Every bandit you run into has superhuman fighting ability and top-tier armour and weapons worth enough to buy a large house, yet they choose to live in caves waiting for travelers to rob.

"Sheva in resident evil 5 you give her a shotgun, machine gun and other powerful weapons, but yet she still uses the crappy handgun".

Call of Duty: Knifes instantly kill you, but multiple bullet wounds don't.

MGO too. A stab to the leg with a knife is instantly fatal, but pumping someone with 30 rounds from a P90 can leave them with a sliver of health left

Edit: Damn spelling!

Any game where you can take successive hits form a sharp weapon or a projectile without dying.
That's more an inaccuracy than an inconsistency..

RE5, Wesker could easily shoot Chris and Sheva in the face and be done with them but NO he has to look all cool beating them up.

The way I see it, on single player at least, when you use your knife your either stabbing them in the heart or slashing their throat open- two injuries that are almost immediately fatal. While with the guns, it all depends on accuracy. I've repeatedly dropped enemies with single shots to the head or center chest, on recruit with a powerful rifle(the M-40 sniper)

So...stabbing someone in the back with a knife, and shooting them in the chest multiple times with a machine gun should be the same? While getting stabbed in the back does hurt, it just seems that getting multiple shots into a chest will kill something faster.

RE series. Grenade launchers are everywhere in the last stage, and they can also defeat almost every single end boss.

I get what you're saying about being stabbed in the back, but keep in mind that even a four inch blade put through someone's back can reach the heart insuring a quick kill. And I do agree that unloading a half dozen or so rounds into somebodies chest will kill them, probably just as quickly as a knife through the heart or across the jugular.

I like how only the OP has an inconsistency.

The rest is just a limitation of game design. Or poor game design in the case of a knife to the leg being instantly fatal.

An inconsistency would be showing that bullets do nothing and explosives are the only way to destroy a monster and then have someone come in with a sword slashing his/her way through an entire army of the exact same monsters.

Ok... inconsistencies.

Any JRPG where the supreme evil used to take an entire empire or army to slow down and imprison, but once it is released, a group of teens with swords will be enough to stop him, this time for good. At least Frodo tried to defeat Sauron by destroying the ring, instead of a more direct approach...

Any JRPG where gameplay mechanics does not translate to the story (Aerith could be saved, but apparently the party run out of phoenix down)

I'd say in an RPG, there being a super powered character that instantly becomes shittier when they go on your team e.g Gadwin.

In Fallout 3, a guy with power armor and flashy weapons can still get jumped by Raiders that don't bother running. Also if you hit the White House with a nuke, there really shouldn't be any fences and buildings with low structural integrity.

Any single unit in a medieval setting RTS can break down a building with nothing but a bow or a sword if he just hits it enough times, but can't chop down trees or a waist-high fence blocking the path.

i think nuke that hit white house was a much smaller "tactical nuke"...or something like that

the other nukes were more powerful (and more inaccurate)... and totally able to destroy fences

...but thats just what i think

In Shadow Complex, you kill the interrogation guy, and so many others, yet at the end
your girlfirend kills the last boss because she says she "won't let you kill in cold blood".

I JUST MURDERED HUNDREDS OF FAMILIES HUSBANDS AND FATHERS, AND NOW YOU STOP MY KILLINGS? REALLY?!
