Shameless advertising, much?

Well, it makes up for having Linebeck in your avatar.

On the art.

That's....

Weird. And... I don't think I'll look at most of those Pokemon the same way again.

I've had SoupandButter participate in Creature of the Week alongside me. He's definitely got a lot of talent, but I'm not sure advertising his talent on the Escapist is all that necessary.
On a side note: if you like that stuff, CGHub had a Pokemon redesign competition as part of Creature Planets, so you should check that out too.

If i saw that togepi hatch from a shell, I'd make it my life's work to stomp every egg I saw with spiked boots.

I'm advertising his art in the same way I'd be advertising a game that I like by talking about it here. We can't talk about stuff we find on the internet? I stumbled across his pictures, fell in love, and felt the need to share them with any who would care. This seems like the kind of thing that could be covered in an Escapist news article and I'm surprised I've never seen them mentioned on this site before.

And what about making up for my avatar? Huh?

Ninetails and Electabuz are both good. The rest are meh. I'm not a fan of people making realistic out to be ugly.
Real life is VERY ugly. Everything is brown, green, and gray, full of none of the cuteness and wholesomeness that all the animations, drawings, cartoons, movies, et cetera would have us believe. I only have to look into a mirror to be reminded of how repulsive life looks. (I keed.)

Says you, with a panda in his avatar. Do you suppose a cartoon panda in pokemon would be depicted as a reptilian monster? You may see the world as ugly, but some of us appreciate the beauty in it.

I think that pretty much all of them are fairly ugly looking.
Not that good, overall, in my opinion.

I... damn it, all right, you've got a point. There is beauty in the world, it's just that for me, there's just so much excrement covering the beauty, I can't focus on the good. But that's just me, the negative little thing that I am. You've got an exceptional worldview if you can see the beauty in many different things.

No big deal.
Edit out what I posted earlier because it sounded really gay.

That's kinda the point. And to say they're not very good is in no way accurate or fair. They're all extremely well thought out and superbly executed.

The guy's got a really nice painting style. Really nice.
I think it is perfectly fair to say that I don't like his art style.

If those things were real, it would certainly make life more interesting. The creepiness factor would increase by a lot.
Also, it would feel like living in an RPG.

Wow, that freaks me out! Pretty awesome stuff! I wonder what the Pokemon creator would think if he saw this?

Agreed ._.
Definitely a different take on Togepi

I love the Vaporeon. It has a mixture of cute and alien to it. It's not too creepy or disgusting, but it's still very exotic, fascinating, and detailed. The way it's paws have been converted into oddly shaped flippers and the pronounced dorsal fin makes it truly look like a land animal evolved into an aquatic creature. The water effects and the background are also very nice and give me the impression of a chilly lake at dawn.

Wow. The winner of this contest is truly deserving. Here's one more for the bunch.

Yeah, that's by Dave Melvin AKA scorge. One of my favorite creature designers. He ran the Creature of the Week competition for a while before handing the reigns to me and another artist by the name of Clark Miller. Stop by ConceptArt.org to check out the competition if you like creature design.
