Cryptic title, no? Some background then.
Way back in 1986, an animated Transformers Movie was released named, somewhat predictably, Transformers: The Movie. Now, as silly as this may sound, this movie was a defining point for an entire generation of geeks, a landmark event that introduced so elements such as Unicron and the Matrix of Leadership into the Transformers canon.
I am exactly the right age to have enjoyed this movie as it was meant to be seen, through the eyes of a young child, and even today it can cut through the cynicism I've acquired over the years with rays of gleeful, boyish nostalgia.
There is a song in this movie, and those of you who have seen in probably know which one I mean, that I have long thought would make an awesome addition to Rock Band. That song is 'Touch' by Stan Bush. To modern ears, it's cheesy 80s metal, but it's such an important part of mine and so many others' childhood, I can't help but love it.
You're probably wondering what the point of all of this is. Well, it seems I'm not the only who thinks that this song deserves it's place in Rock Band, apparently Kotaku and Stan Bush himself want it there too. [http://kotaku.com/5059337/stan-bush-wants-the-touch-in-guitar-hero-rock-band]
So I ask you, my fellow Escapists, do me this one favour, help me make this dream a reality!
[HEADING=2]Questions, and their Answers:[/HEADING]
Q: I'm just one man/woman/robot from the future, how can I help?
A: There are a few ways you can help, you send an e-mail [mailto:[email protected]], or click on the handy buttons at the bottom of the post, spread the word!
Q: Wait, an e-mail? Is this a petition?
A: Maybe, who wants to know?
Q: Well, I do, obviously.
A: Fair enough. Yes, it is a petition.
Q: Do petitions ever actually work?
A: I assume some of them do, otherwise why would people keep doing them?
Q: So what are you going to do with this e-mails?
A: Well, provided I get enough, I'll contact Harmonix and see what they say.
Q: Why Rock Band, why not one of the Guitar Heroes?
A: Three reasons. Firstly, I own Rock Band, secondly if it is released for Rock Band it is theoretically available for all future Rock Band sequels, thirdly Harmonix seem to have more of a sense of humour and by extension seem more amicable to this sort of thing.
Q: Wasn't this song in Boogie Nights?
A: Yes, yes it was.
Q: lol, ur ghey, that song sux!
A: Firstly, that's not a question, secondly, you're banned forever. Standard forum rules apply on this thread.
Q: I've never heard this song.
A: Here, have a video:
