hi everyone, this is my first review and i just got the game so here it is

Location and Story
The game infamous is a brilliantly made game that takes place in new yo- i mean empire city. starting on flaws first, the story makes little sense. A explosion gives a man super powers, but it isn't really explained(if it is im not up to that part yet). The government puts Empire city in quarantine and its blamed on disease. I would include more but i would not like to spoil the game for anyone. Thats my biggest gripe on the game. Also the main character LIES, he claims all the cops have been killed or are to scared, yet 5 minutes later, we get cops in shoot outs against reapers!

Characters
So besides the guy you are there's your best friend named Zeke and there's a FBI agent named Moya that your working for. Zeke is annoying as hell and sends you a phone call for almost every side quest and in the middle of the story quests. He is almost as annoying as Roman from GTA. Moya seems ok but i get this feeling shes extremely paranoid you might turn on her any second (you probably do if you evil) and i get feeling from her i just dont like. The feeling i get from people i go to school with, which is the only thing that wont make me kill you is the law.

Movement and Combat
Going on game play exploring works like assassins creed. You run across roof tops jumping from building to building and climbing, or walking on the ground. Combat works with a mixed of tactics, and your powers are affected by if your evil or good. if you haven't played the game, Evil gets the high damaging stuff, and good gets the ability to make enemies FLOAT off buildings, yep that's there highlight. The cluster of enemies though, make the game difficult going evil or good. Your electricity also goes down fast, even if you collect the shards. While the regular bolt is free to use, the dang shock grenade wastes a lot of energy, while the explosion is good enough to kill a lot of enemies, the arc makes it hard to aim. One last thing, whats with the enemies all having Long range sniper rifles? Its just insane how long they can shoot. They can shoot farther than you and there very accurate.

Karma System
Being good and evil is majorly affected by these points in the game where you get to choose to do a good deed and get to be a evil bastard. That one point doesn't majorly affect game play but it affects the rest of the game. Going good will make people cheer at you and be excited when your around. Even if you do do good actions, some people will call you a murderer. As i went good, i'm not sure how it affects you if you go evil but im guessing it involves in everyone wanting to murder you. I accidentally punched a cop... i had to run.... far.....

Mapping and Side quests
The game is done like in GTA, you start on one island and as you progress you unlock more, but the problem is EVERY WHERE YOU GO IS SWARMED BY PEOPLE TRYING TO SHOOT YOU. You can easily run and jump around and on the many buildings. The only way to get rid of the Reapers (main enemy) is by doing side quests. This can include killing X amount of enemies, following X to Y, Heal X amount of yada yada and more. Also damn the person who keeps on putting the cameras on buildings, those side quests are annoying as hell. you cant be destroyed by lighting shots? why the heck is the animation of it being destroyed lighting coming out of your hand. dang those quests

Conclusion
All in all the game is great and i have only discovered one main glitch, the game randomly went black and had a irritating sound playing wouldn't stop so i had to reset my PS3. The powers are a bit one sided to the dark side but the multiple powers are great anyway. I recommend this game to anyone who owns the PS3 system. Also id like people to review how i reviewed this game, since this is my first review..

Please try to keep punctuation good. It makes reading the thing needlessly taxing. Also, a personal pitpick: don't put the word "review" in the thread title. This is the Review Forum, so only reviews are meant to be here. There's no need to say that this is a review. Plus I think admitting that it's your first review right from the start is more foolish than brave.

I hate to be a grammar Nazi, but you're = you are. You should use it instead of "your". I wouldn't comment, except that it made your review hard to read and distracted from the content.

If you want to compare it to a more "professional" review, check out Jordan Deam's review (voiced by Susan Arendt) here: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/reviews/740-inFamous-Review-Supplement

Overall, I like the way you organized the different aspects of the game, rather than just babbling. It was a little vague at times (avoid using subjective words like "good"). But not having played the game, I can't comment on the accuracy of your review.

Was that the only thing you could find? I don't like being one either, but if you are going to write a review, do a spellcheck at the very least!

annoyying? I don't think thats how you spell that.

It wasn't the only thing wrong that I noticed, but the minor spelling errors didn't really distract from the content, so I didn't feel the need to comment.

If the original poster really wants to spell well, just get Firefox. It's got built-in spell check, so before you post, just make sure there aren't any red lines and you're good.

As others have said, you sound like someone has paid you to advertise this game.

Also, this isn't a necessity, but I feel that before you can really review a game you should either finish it or feel that you are incredibly close to the end. Otherwise your views aren't complete and may paint an incorrect picture for the people reading your post (that's my opinion, anyway).

Then don't write a review...

If your going to keep making excuses for a lackluster review (first review or not I'm sure it would have occurred to you to check your spelling at the very least) then you shouldn't post any more until you have:

. Finished the game.
. Figured out positives and negatives regarding it.
. Written out a clear, detailed review (at least 800 words) in a word-processing program.
. Used said programs spell-check tool and read the review aloud to yourself.

That's not a flaw, unless you're suggesting that you and I are some sort of alien hybrids . . .

I don't get how you can criticise the plot for not explaining everything at the start. Surely the point is to find out as you play through the game?

This is less of a review, more of a summary. And it's a summary in need of spellcheckery.

Also, why would you review something you haven't finished? GRRRRRRR.

Try the whole game through before you review. This wasn't bad, but the Karma stuff affects a little more than how people act around you.

You need to have at least played through the whole game first to have written a proper review, it only makes sense, no?

Your spelling in some cases is mediocre at most, your grammar seems to be suffering at points, and there is very, very little flow in your writing. It all seems very cluttered and distracted.

Finally, don't give excuses as to why your review isn't good. Chances are, they're bullshit. "Oh, I didn't have the time to write it, so I rushed" "Oh., I've got a short attention span."

If you're going to pull that, then you shouldn't be in here.

Yeah I think that was my biggest issue with this review. You can't rightfully make an accurate review of a game that you have yet to finish. Especially if you are going to make claims as to whether or not a specific topic is assessed during the story.
