infidelity and tv

i dont know what it is, but something bothers me about when i see infidelity on tv. latest thing was this episode of family guy http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Go_Stewie_Go and im just wondering, do they honestly not give a crap about integrity of character or do they just do it for the laughs?

It's family guy. The creators don't care, they'll do the unthinkable on that show. (Which can lead to hilarity)

There is some surprisingly bad content on TV nowdays, both in terms of the intensity of the sexuality and violence and in the moral fabric of its in-story context. It's kind of ridiculous, really, and I think it should be pulled back a bit more. Family Guy is an absolute prime example of this.
