So, let's say if there was an fps, where everybody had inhuman levels of fitness, dexterity, sense of smell and perception speed/bullet time vision.

One punch would kill, grenades would have to be cooked for a long time, but could be thrown hard enough to kill on impact, if a man was sprinting around another man, the second man would have to lead his fire significantly.

The super senses of smell would mean that unless they kept on the move, it'd be easy to track enemies down.

The super muscles would technically allow more armour to be worn or more equipment and weapons to be carried, but that would mean sacrificing speed and jumping height.

I'm wondering whether it could work, what kind of damage the weapons should do, whether it'd work better with an aim-down-sight mechanic, or with regenerating health or kill streaks.

There's also a matter of having an interesting setting, I like the idea of a parallel universe where the technology is perhaps slightly greater than our own, but there are still fiefs and barons (monopolies and CEOs), great fortresses (Heavily secured skyscrapers), and Wizards and Dragons (Hackers, and things mutated by toxic waste, radiation, and artificial viruses.), and the player, a noble Knight (Highly trained super-cyborg militant lackey armed with whatever infantry stuff he wants, kind of like Adam Jensen.), with a trusty steed (a close to supersonic motorbike).

I don't think that would work. Definitly not if it is in constant slow motion, and having everyone able to run as fast as a bullet? No thank you. Grenades killing on impact? Then why not just throw rocks as your main attack? Maybe have that stuff as abilities with a cooldown, not constant.

However...

I like the idea of an fps where everyone is agile, as well as the armor and equipment choices. The things I previously mentioned could behave as abilities if they had a cooldown, as I said.As for the aim-down sights, I personnaly prefer them, but it varies from person to person.

Seems like it would make a good hybrid between rpg and shooter, especially with how you described the setting.
Now for my questions:
Are you a game developer, or is it just a random idea you had?
Would this be Multiplayer, and if so, co-op, competitive, or both?

If everybody has superpowers, then nobody has superpowers. The whole idea of superpowers would effectively cancel itself out this way.

Sounds like the Crysis multiplayer. The idea sounds cool; having armor significantly effect gameplay would be nice. Hell, kinda reminds me of the shadowrun multiplayer, only not shit.

You're talking about a setting there, not a gameplay mechanic. Could it work? Depends how it was implemented.

I hate bullet time period. Hated the matrix movies, hate that slow motion constently happening all the time. It was cool at the first few times, but god damn it, it gets old fast.

I bought Max Payne 3 for the violence and returned it for Dead Island the second day. I want to play a shooter, not a stupid shooter based on the Matrix Movies

You hate bullet time, yet you knowingly chose to get Max Payne 3 of all games? A game series that basically popularized the bullet time mechanic.

You wanted a shooter, so you chose Dead Island of all games afterwards? A game where you spend a large portion of the game using melee weapons.

OT: Interesting idea OP, I'm sure it would look spectacular but making it functional as a game would be difficult to execute, methinks.

So are you the super mutant or the others?

Because if it's both then you have just described an ordinary multiplayer shooter.
