Infinite Space

ok, so I got infinite space today for my ds and so far Im pretty unimpressed. The 3d ships are neat but the combat looks like an old ps1 game, one of the ugly ones. And the combat... well its a basic rock paper scissors thing, which Ive never been that fond of. Really my question is, does the game get more engrossing to put up with these points? anyone here, who has played it have anything to tell me about it? I mean currently Im probably not far from trading it in which is something I hate to do with a game I just got.

I know this thread is very old but I must comment, if you are willing to put up with the graphics and the combat all the characters are well rounded and likeable ad for a JRPG this is good and the story gets a bit out there to put it mildly but if you play through it, it will feel oddly satisifying
