Recently I've been playing Infinite Undiscovery a bit. I've had it since release but I've still not finished it. I don't play it that often but when I do I always find it pretty fun. Usually JRPGs send me to sleep, which makes this one kind of special to me. Even though the graphics aren't that great, the story is pretty cliche (but still serviceable I think), and the combat is pretty shallow, I still enjoy it far much more than most other JRPGs I've played. In fact, it's the real-time combat I think that makes me like it. I've always been put off JRPGs by the duller than dull turn based combat (and they're over-reliance on cliche), but have always likes their aesthetic, so I find this game pretty fun. But generally critics weren't excited by this game. It seems the common perception is that it's not bad or broken, but just cliche and uninspired. I can see why they said that, but I still think I appreciate the game more than most of them do.
So I was curious to find out if any Escapists had played this game and what they think about it. And on a side note, could anyone suggest to me any good JRPGs that have real-time combat? I would love to find some.
