Native rendering at 1080p was almost unheard of in the current gen, it may not sound like much of a difference when people refer to the meaningless number of lines but the actual complexity rises by 2.3x and that is a lot of extra power needed.

But at the same your post makes an excellent example of people never noticing / knowing the difference, even with games far bellow 720p they would claim it's all perfect, so in the end this will not even matter to the public.
However it does show devs make poor use of all the extra grunt these consoles will bring.

Xbox One DDR 3 RAM is better for physics and AI calculations then the PS4's GDDR 5 RAM.
Unfortunately, no. The way RAM works with new architecture and the APU in new consoles eliminates the problem of latency, so DDR3 has absolutely no advantage whatsoever over GDDR5. PS4 has faster RAM with more bandwidth than the Xbone. It's just better at everything.

Anything below 1080p is a bit disappointing for a next gen console, I don't consider myself a graphics whore but come on my pcs have been outputting 1080p on two monitors for the past 5+ years without even breaking a sweat. Dunno maybe I was expecting too much from a £400 machine.

Maybe it wasn't so smart to invest half the budget in a webcam no one wanted...

1080p is really pretty when watching shows and such. I'm not very sure if I would notice the difference when playing a game though?
