I just checked out the Infinity Ward website and I couldn't help but notice that it looked like absolute game developing utopia. It has a fully stocked kitchen always, a full sized movie theater, workout facilities, and many more. It simply seamed like heaven. Does anyone have anything to add to this?

I saw a program on Google a while back and people were rollerskating around and had their pets with em it looked amazing and the colours, it was like a crazy dream. I even think i remember seeing a clown at one point ...

I have to say, the folks I've met from Infinity Ward have all been extremely nice and cool people. Good senses of humor, too. :)

I would have to agree that the Google workplaces look simply wonderful. I also saw that Epic Games had a pretty neat food parlor area thing in one of the videos here.
From what my friend tells me, EA seems to have a pretty nice setup. I don't talk to him much, but he says that it is extremely fun around there.

I'm looking at these responses and thinking, you guys in the States have it made. I personally want to begin a career in game development as soon as I graduate from university, and I'm simply praying now that the UK based development companies (e.g. Lionhead) have similar facilities, although I don't imagine they will. Ah well, I can always emigrate...

Good luck with that. Peter Molyneux will have you chained to a desk churning out code for his next Magnum Opus video game. You will have a buffet of stale bread and dish soap water, as consolation though.

I only jest, good luck in your future endeavors.

Thanks :) I was actually thinking of checking out some of the other big companies, I'm not certain but I think Bungie and THQ both have offices in the UK, and some of the other big companies too. If they had me making Fable 3 with Wossy then there's no way I'm working for Lionhead, but I still want to work in the UK if I can. I suppose if I can't find work with the big companies I could always have a look at some of the smaller indie developers, or as I said above I could emigrate, although I'd really love to be working in the UK instead.
