Insane Games

So games that are batshit crazy, or games that drive you batshit crazy are few and far between but can leave a lasting impression for good or ill. Games that, if you don't already have mental issues, can possibly put you into the psyche ward.
My top batshit crazy games are as follows:

1. E.Y.E.: Divine Cybermancy - Honestly what the hell is up with this game? What is the point? What the hell is going on? I don't get it and attempting to play it seems to push me to madness. I really wonder who the hell decided to release this and what their point was other than to give gamers a headache.

2. Alice (and its sequel) - Don't get me wrong this is a great series but its definitely maddening. Of course it is, its an Alice in Wonderland game with an even darker twist. It makes me think American McGee is on a lifelong acid trip. But damn is it fun.

3. Demon's/Dark Souls - Yeah this game does drive me up the wall both from paranoia and frustration. Definitely can cause one to snap if one plays too long or gets invaded by some dude who probably glitched his way into dominance.

4. Any game by Suda51 - This dude probably hung out with American McGee one day and caught a contact trip and never came down. Interesting games but WTF is this dude on, and why does it make me feel like I'm on something?

So what games drive you to the brink? Or make you wonder what crack they were smoking when they made it?

As for the medical definition of insanity, I'd go with Rule of Rose, which elsewhere I lambasted for crap gameplay, combat, puzzle-solving and story, which is grossly spoiler'd in the intro FMV. It's not even a scary survival horror. But it does play on one character's insanity. And all the frustration playing it helps. So there you go.

And I've only played Suda's Killer7 but trying to figure that one out is a strong push towards insanity.

To take "crazy" in the other direction -

Platinum games in general tend to be wacky, over-the-top nonsense, but combining that with the Metal Gear franchise is a recipe for pure, undiluted insanity.
