Think of what we had say... fifteen years ago.

I think we all know that we're going to be getting this kinda technology relatively soon.
And it will be Sweet.
Computer technology isn't improving nearly as fast as it was 15 years ago (I also wouldn't call 15 years "relatively soon" for the video game industry). Something like this may require a major technological leap, such as moving beyond silicon.
theyre actually thinking about using diamonds for chips rather than silicon
Diamond? That's a horrible idea, no matter how well it actually works, it's like using Oil. It's finite, and expensive as hell.
Silly boy.
Diamonds are made from carbon, a very common element, and they can be forged synthetically.
gold is fairly expensive, but the chips use so little that the price is negligable.
its been shown that by using lasers you can change the transparency of crystals as light is passing through them, thus slowing light signals down, perhaps to a dead stop. this means that crystals could serve as a kind of ram for optical computers, and when you think about it it becomes plainly apparent that computers based on light could be the next logical step, considering that light moves faster than electricity.

CLOTH PHYSICS!!!! Really, we need those to improve quite a bit as the biggest issues with heavy rain's graphics was when people took their shirts off the shirt stopped making sense.
HAH! That was both amusing and relevent. And shirts were removed with great frequency in that game.
I am being kinda serious. You have no idea how crap dynamic cloth physics is. Ever seen MGS 4? Everybody has to wear tight clothes. Same with Uncharted. Halo has to dodge this in the alien clothes rather limited. Half life even has this issue. LET PEOPLE WEAR LOOSE FITTING CLOTHING FOR ONCE!!!

That is really cool. That was realistic as hell. And i love to watch in-game physics effects, the only problem being that my PC can't run current-gen games. Yeah, I'd wish I'd have computer that could play games with such engines.
Poor little bunnies.
It really doesn't take much money to build a gaming PC these days, you can have something that would play current gen games at a decent clip for under $400.

Newegg is your friend.

Yeah, I'd love to get a PC at that price. The thing is, I don't really know how to build one, I'm one of those rare young people who use computers a lot, but doesn't really know how one works. Some of my friends know more about PCs and building, but most of them are lazy as hell.
Also, what's a Newegg?

Wow, if I didn't know beforehand I would say that some of these were real. Props to the designers!

Ok,ok i thought they meant real diamonds.

Oh my S.T.A.R.S!

We could finally be close to having realistic water in games, I've dreamed of the implications of that.

There is something soothing about watching that dirt fly around in that little room. Something graceful about all those marbles. Something majestic about that cloth...

I need to shoot something and quick! But otherwise very cool. I don't really see much application in games though. Sure you could use it to pretty up your game, but that doesn't make the gameplay more fun or the story stronger. Until those departments catch up I want graphics/physics to stop for a breather. Even if just a small one.
