I imagine Pixar's B team is doing Cars 3. Cause it looks like their A team did this film.

Really looking forward to watching it when I can.

This is the first i've heard of this film, yet even the premise alone has me sold. The knowledge that it is a great one, well...i guess me and my 100% non-imaginary friends will enjoy a garunteed, extraordinary experience then!

I watched it today. It was amazing. It was funny, clever and had a few heartfelt moments. This is the quality that put Pixar on top.

OT: The short Lava, personally, rivals the opening sequence to UP.

I would recommend this movie to anyone

I saw this last night. For me and my friends, it started out kind of slow. Sadness got on our nerves because she was such a downer. Like, seriously, get over it. Which is impossible, seeing as she is literally sadness, but it kind of got annoying at the beginning.
But then we started to realize that Joy was just as bad, but since she's happy and smiles, we didn't catch it right away. That's when the movie sort of started picking up for me at least, but I still wasn't feeling the greatness that comes with the Pixar movies. I started to worry that I was sitting through another Brave. Pretty movie, with a few small laughs, but nothing amazing.

And then the adventure starts, and the movie starts to pick up. And then, there's this one part where...just ugh. As my friend put it, "The FEELS!!!" The review was wrong--there was no sniffling. There were straight tears running down my face and I was struggling not to shake in my seat and just start sobbing. I don't know, maybe it's because I can relate to a lot of the stuff that was from Riley' past, but damn. This movie hit me harder than the ending of Toy Story. It was like Pixar started it out slow because they were pulling their fist back for a punch so hard that it lays you out on the floor. And it did. It's really good, but oh man, it did not pull the emotional punches once it decided to start throwing them.

Looking forward to this since I first heard of it, and as a longtime Pixar fan, I want to see this! And I haven't seen one of their movies since WALL-E.

Two pages of unbroken praise and I sadly still can't find in myself any desire to see this. I'm not saying it looks bad, on the contrary, if you are between the ages of 11 and 16 or are a parent who has/had children in that age range I'm sure it's touching. But at the bitter old age of 20 and with enough intelligence to not have kids of my own at that age I feel so disconnected from all the central elements of the story that I can't help but assume I would spend half viewing grumbling about teenagers and the other half theatrically rolling my eyes.

Besides, I'm absolutely positive my sister will be renting it the second it comes out on DVD, so if I wait I can watch for free.

With perhaps the most creative idea in the Pixar ?uvre,
Yeah, an idea so creative, Fox made a tv show about it in the 90's.

I only watch the Pixar films by Pete Doctor (director of UP) at this point, since he's the only OG pixar director left.

I can't recommend this film enough, I would argue its one of the best Pixar films they've ever produced. It's creative, intelligent, funny, and genuinely emotional (har har). It's also quite subtle in how it handles the characters. I had a blast, and it one of those films you really crave more of once it's finished. It could have been four hours long, and it wouldn't have felt its length.

But... Pixar never left in the first place... ;)

OT: I kinda figured this movie was going to be something awesome... even before seeing the clip involving Anger "talking" about pizza... I think it was around the time I found out who was directing this movie that convinced me the most that this was going to be a good movie, at least...

Other than that, I know exactly who I'm going to take to see this movie with me... and I'm sure they'll agree with my reasoning as well...

The Feels are strong with this one.

Seriously it's a very good film. Insightful and entertaining. Very heart tugging. No big calamity, no grand quest it's literally just something everyone of us have dealt with.

Saw it yesterday, and I guess I can see why so many people are heaping so much praise on it, but eh. One thing that really bothered me is that a lot of people are going on about how it so accurately depicts depression, and how great it is we get such a young character with the condition dealing with it, but she doesn't have it. She's just sad that she had to move, and
quite clearly gets over herself by the end of the movie.

Also, that Lava short can go fuck itself. I do not need to be reminded how I'm terribly alone, and going to die alone.

I liked the part where you posted spoilers in a tag in your comment. And... there, fixed it! -wipes forehead- Wow, that was a chore. Even minute spoilers are still spoilers.

That being said, I haven't seen it yet; the first trailer that came out for it and I couldn't roll my eyes dramatically enough: What does Pixar know about what's REALLY going on in the head of a young girl going through a typical stage of puberty, anyway? I was cynical. When the second trailer came out, I kind of nodded and said "Yeah okay, THIS makes more sense" and now it's out and everyone's like YOU HAVE TO SEE IT and I'm just waiting for the Frozen-style backlash "well... it wasn't THAT good. It was so over-rated" blah blah blah because nothing's allowed to just be good anymore.

I'll see it eventually, I'm sure.

I have a dream, I hope will come true. You?re here with me and I?m here with you. I wish that the earth, sea, the sky up above, will send you someone to lava.

I loved the movie.

Sadness was one of the big reasons why I wanted to see it. My 7 year old gets sad over the smallest things, and the character is like a little version of her! I can't understand why she won't just "get over it" about things; but she gets so sad. When she appeared at the beginning it was quite funny because that's what she does - she'll do things that make sad things happen and then be sad about it. She's clumsy, and that just results in more sad.

This movie made me realized that sometimes when she's sad she just needs to be sad and try to get her feelings out. I really felt bad when they put sadness in a little circle to keep her away from the memories and the console; as sometimes, that's what I do with my girl to keep her from touching anything since she's so clumsy.

Of course, she's not always like that - and I've started talking to her about her feelings in a way that relates to the movie so she can understand she's choosing sadness to run the controls inside her head, when she doesn't need to be sad about something.

Well, that wasn't the reaction I thought I'd get.

Perhaps I should send you one of these?

But you probably had one and threw it into a fire! Who's the monster now?

You because you think I'd throw a plushie into the flames. WHO WOULD DO THAT?! *continues crying due to the Lava short*
