I figured this would be a great place for those of us with special information concerning our jobs, schools, etc could give out protips to help out other fellow gamers in the real world.
Here's mine:
Being an employee of Hampton Inn & Suites, I can tell you that, in a pinch, you can get a room without paying for it.
Here at Hampton, we have the 100% guarantee. Anything goes wrong with your stay, bam, free room. And don't feel too bad about it, as we actually have quotas to attain. Here at my smaller hotel, we have to give out at least 15 free rooms a month, or corporate gets suspicious of us not following up on the 100% guarantee.
So, just find something to complain about. Anything. Seriously, anything. I've given out 100%'s because someone complained about noise from a nearby room (something we have zero control over, other than asking them to be quiet, and asking them to leave if they continue).
I've even given them out over a single hair on the sink.
Just have a little guts, don't be indignant about it, and you can score a free room.
NOTE: You'll still have to have the initial check in fee, either in cash or on a debit/credit card, but you'll get it back when you check out. If you use a debit card, you just have to have the funds available, as we don't actually charge the card until checkout.
I just thought this would be handy for anyone stuck far away from home, with nowhere to sleep and no real money to spend.
