I tire myself out as much as possible either by working out or just running around a couple of blocks. Always puts me to sleep.

Start watching films. that got me to sleep when suffering insomnia.

I do not know what insomnia is, please describe. However I can guess it is keeping you awake. This may sound childish, but I often find it useful to count. (I also have difficulty sleeping, but probably not to such a degree.)

I can't help you dude, I barely sleep when I start to miss it, and for the past week I've slept like an hour each day. I'm getting really bored.

There's not much you can against insomnia but wait it out until you fall asleep, unfortunately (aside from sleeping pills, that is).
I usually try to read until I fall asleep, or watch movies until I'm utterly exhausted, which can help a bit.

I havn't slept properly in a week and it's driving me up a wall anyone got advice?
I can help you, try 75g of Phenergen tablets which you might need a perscription for
Don't look at any electronics 1 hour before you sleep
don't drink any energy drinks that day
Read a dull book, one that doesn't require brain use (try twilight)
Masterbate but with some good ventalation so you don't over heat
Finally, try changing your doing lots od cardio exercises such as running or martial arts 1 hour before you go to sleep
If none of them work then there is always rohipnol
Hope you feel better soon mate :)

Whenever I have times of Insominia, I clean, listen to podcasts, and play games.

I don't have insomnia.

I like staying up for days on end.

Honestly, there's not a whole lot you can do - eat turkey?
Drink alcohol?
Sleeping pills?

Mostly I just tough it out and act like an awful fucking dick to everyone for a few days (deal with it, bitches, I need my beauty sleep.)

Couldn't have said it better.

If you really need to sleep, you can try sleeping pills, herbal extracts,or watching really boring movie.

If you don't really feel any drawbacks, just go on without sleeping untill you'll want to sleep.

Unisom. but if you cant sleep for a week then it's not gonna help. No OTC sleeping pills will.

Drink a few caffeinated beverages (go for green tea and kill two birds with one stone throw) and go to sleep during the crash. Sometimes what I have to do is reset my sleep schedule. I am naturally a nocturnal person and every once in a while I can't sleep at night which means I pull an all nighter and stay up until I need to go to bed to resume normal sleep.

This statement is like saying aspertain causes cancer(which it does but you need to drink so much of it that you would die of kidney failure before you developed cancer). All the sources I have checked said that turkey making you sleepy isn't true. While turkey does have a chemical that makes you sleepy, it is in such a small dose that it doesn't affect you.

Well, I currently have a case of insomnia. Whenever I can't sleep, I bring up Youtube and watch some old zombie movies.

1. Start a treadmill.
2. Jump on treadmill and run.
3. Keep going until either you or the treadmill gives up.
4. Either you are now comatose, or you defeated the machine and now deserve a beer and rest that will come naturally knowing that you are the best around, and nobody ever gonna keep you down.

Alternatively, replace 1. with Sleeping pills until you get more normal habits.

For quite a while I could only sleep every second night, but I'd sleep for a good 10 hours. Maybe just embrace it if it's like that, you get heaps of thinking done.
