[Background story]
So basically I've had this pretty bad flu last week. The kind where you have to lay yourself down every 2 hours because your body just /lols at you and quits. Which was absolutely great because I normally have terrible difficulties falling asleep, and just dozing off every 2 hours for a week straight was like a holiday. A holiday full of snot and physical agony, but a holiday nontheless.

Needless to say my day-and-night rhythm is completely off it's tits. Sleeping 3 hours in the afternoon, dragging myself from my bed to the kitchen, to the couch and sleeping a bit again all week kinda does that. Consequently I'm now wide awake, it's 2:35 AM here, I have to get up in about 5 hours but I feel ready to run a marathon. The flu's all gone and I don't have to worry about taking some extra rest.

So I've decided I'm just gonna stay awake. Now I know some people consider this unhealthy and I'm not gonna argue that it's not, but this is the only way to 'reset' my routine a bit and ensure that I'll be sleepy by tomorrow night.

But here's the hook; I'm bored already. Normally I'd go nuts on anatomy practice in ZBrush but I've just upgraded to Windows7 and for some reason my tablet sensitivity won't work. And I honestly can't be arsed to fix that now.
[/Background story]

So, my fellow Escapist, let's forget about timezones and join me for coffee, and tell me what you like to do when you just can't sleep.

I wish i couldn't fall asleep, i've spent most of my life sleeping so i want to stay up... but my body forces me to sleep. either way i usually watch SNL or some other show on hulu, play a video game, check all the sites i go to for updates and view the updates if there any. I Come here and Thread it up. Lately i will just start up my DS and play one of the games on my AceKard. ive so far grown 717 flowers in Chibi-Robo Park Patrol and solved 40 puzzles in Professor Layton and the Curious Village.

Insomniacs United? A soccer team that plays all its matches at 3 AM and beats its fatigued opponents. ;)

I take seroquel. Then I pass out for like 6 hours.
...
To be helpful: before I was prescribed medication I would play open world games like Fallout for like 6 hours on end.

Playing Xenosaga helps. It's the only game to ever not only put me to sleep, but do it multiple times.

I would start to clean and maintain my gun collection. That could go on for many nights. Or I just start reading or playing games. Then I started to take prescription drugs and well, now I sleep, a lot :D

I game. And I mean full on, manic gaming. It seems that when I get sleepy and need to stay up, my reflexes for gaming go through the roof. However it only seems to last about 3 hours.

Ooh, you should video capture a 2 hour 30 minute long session of Modern Warfare 2 while in that mode!

Modern Warfare 2 because it pretty much needs twitchy-skills.

That actually sounds great. Too bad I'm in the Netherlands where even the police are scared of firearms.

I'm thinking on teaching myself the fine art of woodcarving, but since I recently moved houses (hooray big place) I kinda lack the facilities at the moment. Working on the house is also a no-go, most things that still need to be done require powertools and even though I'm quite a jerk I try not too piss of my neighbours. Yet.

I lie down and listen to my iPod in the dark, which also really helps me get to sleep.

LOL, funny you should say that! I'm actually thinking about getting MW2. Usually I'll play through a campaign or 2 on L4D2. Yah... usually tanks don't even touch me.

I browse the forums, look for trolls, and send some mods some messages.

I like to keep an eye out for users being phenomenal retards in threads. For instance, I just fire-shot an entire thread of 3 idiots bickering.

Good times.

Put a camera up and document yourself staying up all night.
Should make an interesting youtube video seeing you either being freakishly alert or constantly dozing off like a wasted macho-schist at the bar.

"Hour 3... 5:30 AM... Trying to gain exalted with the Sha'Tar... Oh look, I have to start farming... *Starts to doze off and snore in front of the camera, only to suddenly wake up and continue the ordeal.*"

That is what I'll plan to do when Insomnia will ever affect me again.
