This is my first review, so try to bear with me.

Call of Duty 4 is the latest instalment to the CoD series, all of which i have enjoyed up to this point. So i went out and dropped a few dollars and bought CoD4 (several months ago, of course) for the Xbox 360. Needless to say, CoD4 did not fail to impress. Infact, it didnt fail to make me shit myself in awe of its uber sexiness and amazing gameplay.

CoD4 is an outstanding FPS that has a great storyline. The stuck up Americans charge into a foreign country with guns blazing, while the Brits (woot!) take the smarter (and much more fun) route of stealth and guile. They are both fighting terrorists of the same sort, all led by leaders whos names are all too similar to tell apart. But enough of the story. We dont play war games for story, we play them so we can blow Arab's lower torsos off with a high powered assult rifle!

The gameplay is amazing. The whole time i felt like i was in the action myself. In the intense battle scenes, i always found myself ducking out of the way in real life when a rocket would come whizzing towards my face (often forgetting to duck out of the way in the actual game...)The graphics added to the effect as well. The whole time i actually felt like i was a real US (or British) soldier shooting real bullets out of a real gun at real arabs that sprayed real blood out of their real organs inside of their real bodies (at this point im just trying to be a repetative prick, so thanks for seeing it through). I enjoyed the stealth missions in CoD4 more than the all out battle royal missions because it gave me more of a "im a badass" feeling in the game as we knifed arab pricks who were none the wiser. I found myslef holding my breath in some of the stealth missions, and if i made a noise in real life, i would go prone in game so the arabs wouldnt see me after they "heard" me spill my soda in real life. I felt as if i were in the game the entire time.

Character develpoment was fantastic. Yes, captain Price made yet another appearence in this CoD as the leader of the British S.A.S. I found myself growing attatched to the Brits much more than the Americans, seeing as all the Americans ever said was "Jackson, take point" or "Jackson, throw a flash through the door!" or "Jackson, bend over and unzip..." Woa! Sorry, got a little out of line there. The only American i respected was Sgt. Griggs. He was so epic. Anyway, back to the Brits. My favorite character by far was Gaz. He always knew what to do and he could sure kick ass. So the game completely fell apart for me when (SPOILERS!!!) the end sequence had him being shot in the head as he begged for mercy from that one armed bastard. I couldnt help but watch the single tear run down my face in the relfection of my TV as Gaz's blood flowed out of his skull and on to the unforgiving pavement of the destroyed bridge. I knew at that point Zhakaev had to pay for that shit. I felt so good dropping that prick. (END SPOILERS!!!) But enough about my personal grudges.

All in all, CoD4 is an amazing FPS. Most likely the best ive ever played. (NOTICE: Best FPS, not best GAME. Best game ever played: Zelda OoT). I would give CoD4 a 10/10 and would recommend it to any FPS fan (or game fan for that matter).

Well, thanks for bearing through my first review! Hope you all enjoyed it, and if you didnt, i get the satisfaction of having wasted someones time on my thoughts and opinions. :D

I thought it was a good review, and i agree that the multiplayer would be a little hard to review, seeing as it constantly changes.

Short compared to others, i agree. But this is my first review, so i didnt want to make it very long, seeing as inexperience may make a bad or boring review, and the last thing i want is a bad, LONG, boring review.

Decent review, bit too much of a CoD love-in for me. I would point out the fault of the trial-and-error sections where you get unavoidably bombarded with grenades and have to retry sections through no fault of your own. This must knock off a point, I think a 10/10 is too much.
But otherwise decent review, just needs a bit more balance next time.

Did you miss that half the game you were fighting Russian separatist?
Verruckt brings up a good point. Not one of the stealth missions had you fighting against "arab pricks" as you described them. You were always fighting Russians as the SAS. True, there was the one mission where you had to infiltrate and capture that one arabic leader, but you were still shooting russians, and you, the player, didn't kill the leader. Captain Price did. In fact I believe the majority of the game was spent as Soap ("What kinda name is Soap anyway?") as opposed to Jackson.

What? That's not what happened.

Gaz pushed his head INTO Zakhaev's gun, as if to say 'Fuck you, you slimy bastard!' I was sad, but no one ever mentions Mac. He goes on every mission and dies in Heat as he covers you, I felt sad because he was in your position, made to do all the grunt work. And as awesome as Griggs is, why the hell did he pull me from behind a car INTO THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD! He should have stayed with me and Price and covered Gaz and the others with his M60.

Decent review - I gree with the current point being raised though. The review just seems to focus on the great bits instead of adressing the poor parts of the campagin. This game is not a 10/10 by any stretch of the imagination.

Although I am glad you didn't review the terrible online play. Its stuffed full of boring gimmicks and no skill gameplay.

I dont remember that part about the whole "Fuck you" motion. It looked like a plea to me. Huh, guess i'll have to do that mission again.

A bit more polish (spelling and that kind of stuff)and a bit more length would have been nice but otherwise a good review.

Too much 'I' in the review. Annoying to read, since it really just reads as a fanboy going on about his favorite game. No offense intended. It's just the way you've written it.

Also, spelling check, please. The spoiler wasn't needed at all to review the game properly, you could've just said that "the game really pulls you in."

Sorry for inperfections, bbut this is my first review, so i can see how there could be some flaws in it. Please, if your going to say it was unpolished, etc, please tell me how to improve it so i dont make the same mistakes and get repeated comments of "unpolished", "unprofessional", etc. because i dont know what to improve on. Thanks.
