Ive been thinking after watching the Dues Ex trailer over and over again that, though many have been waiting for TES V why dont Betheseda try making a sci-fi game instead? you could somewhat consider Fallout to be that game or that the game would basicaly be Mass Effect but I think Betheseda could do alot in a cool sci-fi setting.

what about you guys?

Edit: I also hope for TESV but if so happen they arent making then this I would want... not that I dont want TESV just I want to see more sci-fi rpgs.

My confidence in Bethesda dwindled after they made a few poor gestures of gratitude and lost a lot of good designers.

The year before Fallout 3 launched - when the company was still riding on Oblivion - their xmas bonus was a really hefty check.

After Fallout 3 launched... and made millions almost immediately... their xmas bonus?

I dunno, I can't see the TES model standing up well with scifi/cyber punk. Then again I can't really imagine that kind of game or even think of an example, if there even is one.

I wouldnt mind seeing the TES universe a million years in their future. (They advance very slowly without dwarves)

I haven't seen to much of Brink, so I don't really know but I think it might be somewhat close to what you're talking about. Although it does seem pretty shifted towards FPS gameplay.

no they cant. bethesda cannot create their own games, they rape games someone else made. even the elder scrolls were made by the team before bethesda was bought out and restructured. bethesda is nothing more than a company of grave diggers digging up and raping established franchises. if they DO think of something it usually fails and gets panned by critics worldwide.

I hope they don't use the Gamebryo engine for TES V. The environments are beautiful, but there's some serious issues with the people. Maybe if they manage to rework the textures for people and pop the Euphoria engine in it will be okay, but I don't quite have my hopes up.

I figure if they're announcing a new elder scrolls game it's going to be running an almost identical version of Gamebryo as Fallout: New Vegas with MAYBE some slight improvements.

becuase Mass Effect isnt open world... sure you can do side-quests and choose what you say but it isnt open world becuase you cant really do anything you want.

Bioware released a DLC and a full expansion with a glitch that re-locks your specializations. I once thought it was great but now it's unplayable.

yes, but BETHESDA WAS BOUGHT OUT AND THE STAFF WAS REPLACED. did you not read my post? bethesda we know today is not the same as it was when it started the elder scrolls.
