Playing any normal game of this generation and then suddenly going over to a game that uses L2 and R2 for aim/fire...

I thought we'd established that L1 and R1 is the best combination for look/shoot strategies so why does someone still cock this up?

I quickly adjust though and so i have the same problem when i go back to my other games again... It's like an evil cirlce >_<

Trying to block (Champions Online) in Everquest 2
Yeah, I play both Champions Online and City of Heroes. And then I'm all "AUUUGGHH BLOCK BLOCK BLOCK WHY WON'T YOuuu.... oh yeah, wrong game.."

Also, when I play a marathon session of GTA or something similar, then go out and drive in the real world, I have to keep fighting down the urge to blow through red lights and run over pedestrians....

I was playing half life 1, and when I was low on health I kept on hitting E to call for a medic due to a habit tf2 gave me.

But a Medic never came..

Oh wow. I also tried to go into VATS in Just Cause 2. Sometimes I try to use my hook in GTA games or Saints Row 2.

After playing MW2, I almost always automatically hit the right analog stick when I get close to someone.

After playing Unreal Tournament 3, I tried to get on my hoverboard in New Vegas.

After playing Portal 2, I tried to place portals in Minecraft.

After playing Resident Evil remake, going back to other RE games I expect I can do a 180 degree turn when faced with a zombie. Doesn't end all that well.

I always jum off of my horse in AC: brotherhood, because repeatingly pressing (A) in Red Dead: Redemption makes it go faster.

That have happened many times to me. But I will only describe the two times that came first to my mind.

1) In Wolfenstein (2009) I was playing the game with the technique I used in previous games of the series (Wolfenstein 3D,Return to Castle Wolfenstein),which was to not use some powerful guns I'd find in regular circumstances, but only use them at the "HARD" parts of the game.In previous games of the series, you have to keep any ammo you find for big guns like the rocket launcher for very special parts of the games, where if you don't have enough ammo of said weapon you most likely can't pass that situation (mostly big bosses)and advance. But Wolfenstein 2009 broke the tradition of the series and didn't had "hard" parts like its predecessors at all.
I ended up finishing the game without ever using some of the coolest guns this game had, just because the hard moments I'd expected from it never came.It was a very easy game lacking challenge.

2)In all S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games I played,I tend to wrongly use a technique that works in about 90% of most FPSs,but not on these. Usually in FPSs the A.I. is stupid enough so many enemies when they see you start walking straight to you.So when in a room or open area there are too many that can shoot me from many angles,I let them see me and then move back to a shorter area where I wait for them to line up one by one in front of my gun. But it just doesn't work in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
In that game when the enemies are inside a room and spot you, they almost never walk out of it,but they actually take better cover instead, making the technique that works in most FPSs useless.

I remember playing a game where the right analog stick controlled the camera, and the left controlled movement. Nothing wrong with that system, infact I prefer that. But then, after a week of playing that, I put in God of War 3. I kept trying to move the camera angle out of habit, forgetting that you can't do that in GoW.
