This song and Pallatio, and every song made by Two Steps from Hell, Immediate Music, X-Ray Dog, Audiomachine and most of the music by Akira Yamaoka have the best instrumental music one can heard. Apart from Classical music of course.
Yeah, Clint Mansell is a genius composer, and Escala's take on his theme is a bloody brilliant cover - twas a good day indeed when I came across their work.

I'm of the opinion that a good instrumental song is better than a bad song with lyrics and a good song with lyrics is better than a bad instrumental song. The genres of folk, rap and punk I see mainly as a vehicle for lyrics (although, they can be interesting musically as well). Whereas post-rock, heavy metal and jazz I listen to more for the instrumental side, and even when they do have lyrics, I consider the singing as more like another instrument, rather than listening to what they say. Most of my favourite bands manage to excel in both.

There is a problem that a very large amount of lyricists are pretty damn bad, in the classic rock and metal genres particularly, where they have very little idea of subtelty, humor or storytelling.

Instrumental music actually sounds the opposite of bad-ass. Good-ass? It's just music without any feeling or passion. And being here in The Escapist , I'm predicting accurately everyone'll mention some obscure instrumental metal band
So you're saying there is a requirement of vocals/lyrics for a song to be emotional?

This means you cant feel the notes or emotions within music.
No, 'mine' saying that I don't like it.
