I will be making some edits to my sheet. Not re-writing it but certain things will be noticeably different. Expect it sometime on Saturday.
What? Was this not announced?Nukey said:Not telling we're restarting? Tsk tsk, Mr. Words, you have no idea how disappointed I am. I mean, we are best friends, right?
Anyway, regardless of how much you love me, I think I shall join again, with a new race this time.
Also, I call Titan [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Titan_%28moon%29], as it suits my idea perfectly.
Thankyou, sir. I appreciate the sentiment =)Khedive Rex said:I would still play.
*Flails and jumps* I'M enTHUUUUUUUSSSSSSSiasTIC! HAHAHAhahahHAHAHAhhAHhaha!!!! WHOOOT!*Falls down*
That sheet you mentioned?Xero Scythe said:Alright, I've been sucked in again. Give me a bit to whip up a sheet.
I'm gonna need you to do a bit of stuff on their tech; as mentioned above, you should be roughly on par with present day humanity...Lost In The Void said:The Varents
Unfortunately, I can't allow this race. It does look really cool, but they have no technology, no (or at least very limited) space travel, and a physiology so different that they'd have difficulty coming anywhere near the other races.The_Logician19 said:My species wouldn't even live on a planet!
Good, but I need more about the tech. I don't mind a bit of advancement around one area of technology, but this is not 'the future' in terms of what is possible.willofbob said:Yitan
Good work. Accepted.Khedive Rex said:
You're welcome to join, but I don't want artificial life or system hoppers. The tech available is only present day earth equivalent.IBlackKiteI said:I'd like to join, but the race I'm thinking of is artifical (not created by humans but by other aliens) and their method of reproduction is cloning.
Also they come from outside our solar system.
I'd be happy to change this though if its an issue, I just don't wanna write up a sheet which may need to be drastically changed.
Anyways, you didn't respond to my earlier post, I'm not sure if its that you don't want me in this or I wasn't clear enough about wanting to join or something, but I would like to join, very much.
I like it. You're in.avouleance2nd said:Heplitedge or Heplitus
Pretty good, but I don't buy the idea that the only sustenance they need is two meals a day. Nothing can metabolise with some kind of constant chemical input. Add something like a need for some kind of liquid and I'll be persuaded.Viking Incognito said:Sarthren
Sorry dude, but there's another problem, LITV has already got Venus, and he gets priority cos he was in the original thread.Sir Strange Of The House Lycan said:Meirain
Gah! Well, I'm sorry to say that LITV outranks you too, so you'll need a new planet, unless you can agree to sharing.avouleance2nd said:ThanksThanks for letting me in but I thought my guys had venus.ThreeWords said:Sorry dude, but there's another problem, LITV has already got Venus, and he gets priority cos he was in the original thread.Sir Strange Of The House Lycan said:Meirain
Then again mine don't live on the surface and havn't been there for a few million years so i could work.
Actually now i think about it can I have another similar but slightly twaeked idea
mind if I do anither sheet?
No. Not never.avouleance2nd said:A not before I begin: My new idea involves two species the first is just an individual Norg and the other is species that live on it.
This is the host species. I?m a little unsure about what to do with the other species as of yet so any ideas would be appreciated.
Name: Fleg
Species:
Planet: Phobos (where they also have their spawning burrows) but adult Norgus (of which there are only about 13) are actually able enter a sort of hibernation if they have enough stored energy and then literally drift across space and onto other worlds and rocks.
Physical description/ biology:
The Norgus is the result of evolutions mucking about. Why try and run away from predators when you can simple routinely grow and shed delicious (i.e. drugged with endorphins) meaty tumours. It?s a win win situation, the predators get a steady supply of food that doesn?t fight back and the Norgus doesn?t just get not eaten but it has its own live in bodyguards who will defend it tooth and claw (and sometimes even and gun). This turned out to be a really good survival tactic, as did having a life span several orders of magnitude above anyone else. Sure there may only be about 13 adult Norgus in the solar system but the oldest are about 1.3 billion.
The Norgus resemble salamanders, all be it salamanders that when fully grown are about a 100 miles long and with a leg span of about of about 10 miles, oh and they have 12 legs not four.
Norgus skin is a mix of charcoal black and vibrant reds, yellows and oranges that looked like they were painted on with acrylics. Unlike salamanders however they have thick (several yards thick) metallic armour on their backs and the outward facing parts of their limbs.
The Norg can also produce 10,000 tentacles across their bodies. These tentacles resemble glowing amber umbilical cords and can extend several miles. These tentacles are used as part of the Norgus?s other adaptation.
The Norgus can tap into the brains of other creatures via tentacle. This is partly because the Norg had a molten brain park of which flows down the tube and into the head to the other creature. This does not harm the other but the mental diffusion does dilute the mind of the other much more than it does the Norg, mainly because of differences in mental volume and personality intensity.
The Norgus do this to pool processing power sort of. For example the Norgus have no concept of language and lack the mental capacity of sentient species. But by using the brain of a creature that can communicate they can use that creature to communicate.
Severing this link doesn?t harm the Norg but it undoes any gain from the link.
Requirement to live: The Norgus don?t eat or photosynthesise in the conventional sense. In fact they run on electricity, most of which the take in from solar radiation with a little gained from running magnetic oil along veins in their metallic armour. The Norgus also like things hot. They radiate heat insanely well making their surface almost uninhabitable to anyone that likes it colder than earth. They even have a molten core and electromagnetic field.
Psychological description: The Norgus aren?t on their own intelligent, genetically it is just like a very large whale, it doesn?t have a language but has a good visual memory and an instinctual knowledge of sociology.
State of technology: None to speak of.
Desires: The Norgus are big slow things in a world of little things it doesn?t see as a threat. Unconnected to anyone the Norgus are generally apathetic beyond the wellbeing of their personal predator harem and themselves.
IF I wanted to be in the RP anymore,I'd make the argument of different species and blah blah which would eventually fail.Luckily,I don't want to be because I'm drained of narrative. So yeah,it's cool,I'm out,Void has Venus.ThreeWords said:Sorry dude, but there's another problem, LITV has already got Venus, and he gets priority cos he was in the original thread.Sir Strange Of The House Lycan said:Meirain
I would join but the idea just seems so restricted, and how can players have much contact with each other if they can't have decent ships?ThreeWords said:Snip
