I've been reading a lot of Pokemon fanfiction recently, and it's gotten me thinking. If we dicover another sentient race, and we have the means to actually physically coming in contact with them, would relationships with them (ranging from just friendship to sexual) be ok?

I personally think yes; as we are both sentient races and therefore we are both able to make our own decisions.

You know, I've heard that dolphins are pretty smart. Just saying.

I guess it really depends on how different they are from us, culture wise mainly.
I mean if we can't even communicate with them it would be pretty hard to form any sort of relationship.
That's if we're talking aliens or similar.
If we're talking furries, why not they are humans after all whether they like it or not. ( just my opinion)

As long as the species is capable of sentient thought at an intelligence at or above the human level and consents to it, I could care less. Of course, it would have to be alien. Or maybe dolphin. But I have a hard time not thinking the dolphin would be weird.
