So to make a long story short, my long-time computer decided to recently corrupt two hard drives connected two separate ways (one directly to the motherboard and one on the same cable as the dvd-rom drive). Something tells me its the motherboard which probably means the whole thing's useless now, but I figured I'd ask in case anyone here has run into this problem before.
The computer is a Compaq Presario SR2038Z with a PCI wireless card, GeForce 7950 GT gpu, 3gb ram, Windows XP (well not now since the hard drive's broke but beforehand), some generic dvd-rom since the one it came with stopped reading dvds, and the case is open since I lost the side part and it overheated like a beast with that gpu in there.
Thanks for the help!
