In PC Fallout 3, if you go into the console and fly up above the gate in Megaton to talk to the guard up there he says "How did you get up here?"

In Max Payne there's a secret room you can get to by going along a ledge and through a window, there's a guy with a stake through his chest, dead, who has been spelling something out in the blood. He's one letter short and has only managed B U F F

In the first Blood game, you find a secret area with Duke Nukem's corpse, which upon be used/stuck the main character says "shake it, baby" as the corpse shakes left to right.

In Blood, you would find a cave full of a mimes that surrounded a hanged Duke Nukem. You could poke him with a pitchfork and the pc would say "shake it baby"
Maybe they were avenging Indiana Jones who can be found dead in Duke Nukem 3D and he says something based on it. I forget what.
Bethesda likes easter eggs alot too. SHivering Isles DLC for Oblivion had alot of Morrowind refs in it, like Staada and Fargoth's ring and Big Head. Also they have alot of liturature ones but those I usually dont know till I am told about em.

I dont know if anyone else said this yet, only read first two pages then I rememberd this.
In Fable 2 on knotthole island (that name still feels a bit too weird to me) you can get a gun called Hal's rifle, an obvios halo referance, I laughed so hard at that.

Just found more recently in Fallout 3, a terminal in presidential metro with Strapping Young Lad lyrics from the song 'Detox'.

When I was playing World of Warcraft I found a gnome npc called "Linken" who wore a green hood.

He's in Un'Goro crater, by the way.

If you talk to him he says something like:
"What happened? I remember being on a raft."
Something to that effect anyway.

what was the lost easter egg? and also what about the mini-teleporter in klieners lab
Use noclip to go through the large pipe on your right when you enter the Secondar Silo room with the Vortigaunt Uriah in White Forest base.
The mini-teleporter is on your left inside the entrance to Kleiner's Lab in Half Life 2.

I always enjoyed it how rare would slip things into games which made references to their old ones... except now I'm struggling to think of one. Finding copies of 'Grabbed by the Ghoulies' in bins (because it was so awful) in Nuts and Bolts was a good one, or the Bafta in Perfect Dark, or Cranky Kong in the Donkey Kong 64 instruction manual opening up the musical instruments section with 'hey this was robbed from zelda!'. Don't know if they count as easter eggs per se as they're easy to find but you get the idea I'm trying to make
i love RARE, i like how you can totally make "banjo" in Viva Pinata and they have all those statues you can put in your garden
