Searched for a similar thread to this, but I couldn't find one, which surprised me a little. The point of this thread is to call attention to KS campaigns that people find interesting (and that in turn others might like to consider backing) -- especially if they're nearing their end and need a bit of love.

I'll lead off by mentioning AR-K [http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/432712414/ar-k-an-old-school-game-with-a-new-twist/]. It's an adventure game with an interesting sense of humour and a great protagonist. While the prequel episode was a little spotty (mostly due to translation issues) it showed a lot of promise, and they've got some good talent lined up to ensure that the following episodes come out better. At the time of this writing, there's only a few hours to go but they're SO CLOSE.

Well, that was a knuckle-biter, but it made it in the end.

Next up, check out Nelly Cootalot [http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/315061806/nelly-cootalot-the-fowl-fleet-retro-pirate-adventu]. Just watch the pitch video, if nothing else. I don't know about you, but that made me want to throw money at the screen on the strength of that alone.

Huh, they got in.

Perhaps I should have backed then.

I started an almost identical thread a while back and it was closed immediately by the mods. Apparently this sort of thread counts as advertising, so don't be surprised if it doesn't last very long.

Found this a bit back. Quite good. I support it.

I love their music, and think that they are a good up and coming band.

I don't see how it could count as advertising. But we'll see I guess.

I managed to find the email I got in response to the support ticket asking why my thread was closed. Unfortunately, it doesn't contain my original query (so I don't have a link to the closed thread) but here are the relevant parts of the response:

"It's considered an advertisement since it's soliciting for money/fans. You're of course welcome to promote pieces of art, you just aren't allowed to ask people to send them money. These rules are in place to protect forum users from being advertised to."

"[It's] when you get to the point where you're including links to donate money or advising people about purchasing that you start to look like an advert. As long as the point of your post is to discuss something and not to direct people to go somewhere/do something other than that, you should be fine."

But maybe someone was just feeling fussy that day. *shrug* I don't think my post was any different to yours. (This was back in October so I can't remember exactly what it said!)
