A couple of days ago the 32Gb iPod Touch 4G I ordered arrived, after promptly jailbreaking it I noticed the internal memory stated that 26.6Gb of 55.6Gb was free (when opening the iPod from My Computer). Now iTunes tells me it's actually a 29.3Gb capacity and the bar along the base states there is only 26.3Gb storage left free, so why is Windows detecting an already consumed but unaccounted for 26Gb? Is this due to iOS4 being programmed to always report 64Gb of internal storage and accounts any missing memory to already being "filled"? OR more optimistically is there a means of further breaking the iPods security more than I already have to double my storage?
I've been looking around Mac and iPod forums for a while now and I simply can't find anything about this!
When I get around to it I'm going to install Froyo on it, so that might shed some light on the issue, but if anyone knows ahead of then please, the information would be appreciated!
